Lovely hotel.great staff .stayed in standard room ..really large comfy bed ..room a little small for bed ..i would definitly stay again but i would pick larger room ..otherwise a great stay right on the racecourse .everywhere was immaculate.

Very nice hotel with lots of parking. Great location as part of Newbury racecourse if you are going to the races. Very helpful staff.

This is perfectly located for a business trip because my head office is based just on the opposite side of the train tracks which lie near to the hotel but the hotel is clean safe well equipped and very quiet

This was our first stay , right from beginning check in staff were amazing very professional and friendly. Room was beautiful bed was so comfortable and bathroom had a lovely big shower. We had a cooked breakfast next morning which was very nice. Definitely recommend this to others.

Basic hotel room

Room was small but clean and adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. No chair or dressing table/desk. Only toiletry was a combined shower gel/shampoo. Problems with the lift not working. Need to ensure you drive the correct way to the hotel, the long way around past the station and over the new railway bridge.

Other hotels could learn from The Lodge!

Easy and fast check in, friendly reception staff. Free parking. Not easy to drive in though due to barriers, a little confusing! Clean, comfortable, modern and noise levels were reasonable too. Good value and close to the town centre. Can't fault much at all. Would stay again.

A night away

The hotel was reasonable but not outstanding - the room was smaller than expected and it was disappointing that security had parked in the disabled bay which I could have done with using as a blue badge holder. The staff were however friendly and accommodating. The rooms were not as quiet as I would have liked and I was woken twice in the night once by a door being opened and once from snoring and the toilet being used by the room next door. The room would benefit from a desk and chair and free WiFi for the duration of the stay not just 8 hours a day. I would return for pleasure I would not return for business.

We liked the fact that it was very vintage yet Morden lovely room lovely staff although we had to move rooms 3 times due to bad tv signal and a broken/loose door bracket which made us unable to close the door but staff were more than happy to sort all issues and offered us a complimentary drink for the problems with our rooms

3 night stay

Room very cramped, fan not adequate and no air conditioning. Small cramped bathroom only had showerhead so very difficult to shower without wetting hair. Floor seemed to have problems as very soft underneath vynal. Only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for us as couple. Didn’t have room cleaned after first night but asked for in second day. Didn’t changed towels nor sis they even clean the bathroom sink! Just about changed the quilt cover Overall not a good place to stay we nearly even didn’t stay the last night! Drinks are very expensive we had a large and small lime and soda and cost nearly £8 Would never recommend this place! Good 20 minutes walk into Newbury

Not a great experience.

I arrived around 8pm. Waited ages to find anyone to check me in. When i was in the room, the table with the coffee, tea and Kettle on was exceptionally wobbly. Dangerous if you're trying to make a drink. The bathroom wreaked of sewage. I was only there a few days so i kept the door closed and put up with it. Came back into the room after being out all day. The bed had been made (Well just pulled the quilt over) The towels were in the same position when I left them, They could have been refolded, just to give the impression the room has been cleaned properly.

Ok stay, frustrating to access!!

The stay was perfectly adequate. The room was ok, could have been a little cleaner, breakfast was ok, the scrambled eggs could have been a bit better. My real frustration was access to the hotel. The Sat Nav would bring you to a barrier you couldn’t get through, any re route would use roads with gates that were locked. When investigated the map the way round to get to the other side of the barrier was a few miles and if you put in the suggested post code it would try and take you on roads that were locked and not accessible. It was very frustrating when trying to enter and leave the hotel. This was not made clear on bookings or reminders. I sent back some feedback but am yet to receive a response 5 days later.
