I cannot say enough good things about this place— it was the best part of our trip! Super easy to get into your room, from the nice ambiance in the stairwell to the cleanest room & bathroom I have ever stayed in. The bed is really comfortable and there was no noise that was heard from any other rooms. From the Admiral we walked to Chomp to have dinner one night, which was very good, and in the mornings we walked to the Picnic Cafe for coffee and they have good pastries. And if you can get there early enough and don’t mind a line, Co-Dough is also close by. But don’t forget at Admiral Sims’ House they offer baked goods, yogurts and fruit cups that are also good! Stay here, you won’t regret it!!

We loved our stay! Gorgeous, cozy, clean. The in-room fireplace was delightful. The property was decorated beautifully for Valentine’s Day. Property manager is extremely helpful and friendly. Morning breakfast spread is wonderful too. We’d stay again in a heartbeat!

We usually stay at the viking. This was a refreshing change. Host was wonderful. Check in a breeze. My husband was happy he runs hot. I was freezing sleeping and i didnt bring my blanket. Next time and there will be a next time i am bringing my blanket. Feels like home....

Beautiful property in a great location - walkable to downtown, mansions, and Cliff Walk, but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. Loved the front porch and all of the little touches that made us feel welcome.

Really enjoyed our weekend getaway for my wife's birthday. The room was large and very clean, kitchen area had a microwave and all utensils needed. Bathroom was large and clean and had soap, shampoo and towels provided. Breakfast was available every morning around 8:30 am and consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt and home made muffins and baked goods. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome and at home. Beautiful new porch on the front of the building that we enjoyed every evening before dinner for some pre-dinner drinks. We would definitely return (maybe in the fall) sometime for another visit. Thames street is a little over a mile walk from the property - Uber/Lyft is also available as an option and from $6-$12 per trip to Thames Wharf area depending on time of day. Tips - book mansion tour tickets and dinner reservations before your trip at high season times. Also, Newport drink prices and dinner at popular restaurants are pricey. Best lobster roll is at the Lobster Shack Trailer, 150 Long Wharf Mall, Newport, RI 02840

We stayed at the Admiral Sims on Catherine St. and it was great! The house and property were beautiful and in a good location. Easy walk to the beach, and a little bit longer into downtown Newport but it is doable. Next time we come back we will definitely be bringing our dog!

Lovely and convenient

Great location, walking distance to Easton's Beach and Cliff Walk as well as many stores, restaurants, etc. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It got fairly cold for a couple of days and the gas fireplace heater did a great job of warming the room. The kitchenette was well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. And the hosts are super friendly and helpful!

Love, love, love this place! The property is beautiful, as is the neighborhood and our room was lovely. Location was central and walkable to Cliff Walks and Thames St shops and dining as well as the Bellevue Ave. shopping district. My only complaint is 10AM checkout, which is earlier than any place we've ever stayed. That said, would absolutely stay here again

It was located in a very quiet and nice area. I was able to walk to the main downtown area where restaurants and the shopping are. This is my 2nd time staying overnight in Newport and my 1st airbnb experience was horrible. I'm so glad I found this place and I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Newport- one of my fav. town.
