Beautiful location but poor quality/service

This isn't worth the cost per night. The accommodation is very basic a few steps above a shed, the AC didn't work properly and there were no services, nowhere to buy a coke or beer etc. I foolishly paid up front checked out a day early and they wouldn't refund me one night. However the environment/setting is beautiful but I felt I was being ripped off.

One of dirtiest hotel in poovar.

One of the dirtiest hotel. Don't ever stay in tht hotel absolutely Yuck rooms. No wifi nothing full waste of money. No one stays in tht hotel. If u want to ruined ur trip than you can stay.

The only review you will need to read.

We are a VERY WELL travelled middle age couple. This was one of the worst places we have EVER stayed. We even had a rat somehow get in the washing bucket in the bathroom of our ‘cottage’ and it couldn’t get out. My wife was petrified. Food was extremely expensive, small portions and below average. They can charge this because there is absolutely nowhere’s else to go. Pool was just ok, with bits of mosaic falling off. Would we ever stay here again???? Not in a million years. DO NOT GO HERE, there are MUCH better, and cheaper places...........without rats bathing in your bathroom!!!

My stay with Havelia island resort was good. It is totally isolated property with 8-12 cottages and nothing much excited about it and very limited activities. Hotel staff is very less so you have to wait for your order or any other queries but very polite. Swimming pool is very nice. If you want to relax from your daily routine then only worth to go otherwise nothing much exciting. Riverview cottages are not well maintained. I was excited when booked but when actually saw I was disappointed.

Poor conditions

I was charged 4400 per day for 3 persons. The A/C was fluctuating throughout the day and so it was so hot inside the room. There was water problem in the midnight. They didn't clean the room daily. The pool was not so clean.

Noce idea hotel but very poorly managed.

We occupied four riverside bedrooms.The name is misleading. It did not give a feeling of Island. Poorly managed with very less staff. AC not functioning. Food very costly and not upto the standard and one has no place to go. Toilet seats broken. No room telephone, one has to run around to get things. Not enjoyed at all.

Good water front resort

The staffs are excellent in managing guests. We feel like a family. The food they cooked for us was superb. One great thing about this resort is that they have a live restaurant only, where they cook food as per our requirement thus will have to pre order an hr in advance. Rooms are average but the beauty of the river front cottages are awesome.

Einsame hübsche Bungalows nur mit Boot erreichbar

Schöne Lage für stresslose Tage. Leider kann man nicht im Meer baden, da der Zugang nur mit dem Boot und durch die Sperre am Strand sehr eng gehalten wurde. Das Essen im Restaurant war überteuert und die Bedienung total unprofessionell. Dazu konnten sie nicht Englisch sprechen und verstehen. Wir wussten überhaupt nicht was wir bestellen könnten. Die Natur und der Pool waren super.

Wonderful earthly relax away from everything

We really enjoyed being on the island. The staff were really good to us. The environment was relaxing. Once they have upgraded the resort fully it will be marvellous

Location nice. But unmanaged.

Very bad experience. Only 1 or 2 staff working. AC was in room but not started by staff. Everyone there was unhappy. I was informed on phone Superior Room r AC.

My bad experience at Poovar

We stayed in your resort for two days. First, river view rooms were not good.So we changed our room to pool view.We felt very bad for taking room from this resort.There is no A/C.Out side climate was very hot. Complimentary breakfast is very poor.No varieties.Only idly and bread.No sufficient staff.Food price is very high.Pool water is not clean.Room facilities are very poor.Even sufficient towels were not provided. DEFINITELY I WILL NOT COME AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESORT FOR OTHERS.

Beautiful location, but we're prisoners

The resort is in an island. As it can be accessed only by boats, guests are at the mercy of the resort owners. They tried to restrict where we go and where we eat. We were picked up from the Uchakada main road, but the driver left us in the car and disappeared for 20 minutes soon after. The food prices were exorbitant. After we expressed a desire to have our lunch elsewhere, they claimed the menu was for foreigners. The final bill was arbitrary -- our lunch tab was calculated to bring it upto a round sum. We were able to bargain on boat prices and found a pretext to get to the main land to grab dinner furtively. We were served a very disappointing breakfast - dry toast, eggs, bit of old upma and dreadfully brewed tea, nothing traditional. On the other hand, this is one of the most affordable resorts in Poovar and it is run by one family.

really had a great time in poovar....thanks Haveillya.....it's wonderful location and good hospitality by staffs, only concern is, food is little bit costlier....otherwise very good resort....

Toppenbetyg!

Har nog aldrig varit på ett hotell med så trevlig personal förut. Läget är toppen också, på en ö omringad av backwaters. Reste ensam så det var skönt att allt fanns på hotellet. God mat, pool, möjlighet till yoga osv. Kommer definitivt bo där igen när jag åker tillbaka till Kerala!

The best experience in India so far!

Amazing location, traveling on the river to reach the resort. Having a drink on the private front port of the cottage was a perfect start of our vacation.
