Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Very safe, clean rooms, great location, friendly staff. "

Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo
10/10 Excellent
"Pool was nice, great proximity to the beach. Staff were great and resort was well maintained. WiFi was a little slow. Loved the breakfast."

Condovac la Costa
8/10 Good
"Our family of 6 stayed in the family suite for 3 nights. 2 double beds and a separate room with a king bed, 1 bathroom. The 1 bathroom was a little tricky especially in the morning and at shower time, but we made it work. Our only complaint for the room is no hot water for showers, but maybe this is throughout the property.
We liked the food as it was more authentic than a different property we stayed at right before going to Condovac. We would've liked the buffet eggs at breakfast to be more cooked.
We loved the setting being higher in the mountains, a lot of animals, a short walk (or shuttle ride provided by the property) to the beautiful beach and a little store right by the beach for souvenirs or to restock toiletries/snacks. The shuttle became a great option as we tired from walking up the steep road to the main part of the resort.
The main part is where the pools are, the dining hall with plenty of seating, a bath house & workout building with weights and cardio equipment. We enjoyed the lizards and iguanas walking around the pool deck! Listening to and seeing howler monkeys! We wish there were more pool chairs/loungers. Too few of loungers for even half the guests to use. They were taken quickly and people were not shy about leaving a towel on it while they weren't using it for hours at a time.
The 4 pools were very clean. Beautiful infinity pools! Wading area and shallow pool for younger kids. Staff was awesome 24/7!!! "

The Coast Beachfront Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"My wife booked this based solely on reviews and we were so glad we came across it. The hotel is a smaller boutique style hotel. Front desk was soo friendly.
Smaller pool in the middle of the hotel which was nice after being on the beach.
Direct beach access, they have someone watching your belongings the entire day so if you’re in the water or go for a walk you don’t have to worry about anyone going thru your stuff. Rooms were spacious, we had 2 beds & a deck with a couch/table on so we ate on the deck each morning
They do not have a restaurant or bar which initially I thought was a bummer but actually made us walk around and got to try other reataurants. There is a market 1/2 a mile down we actually picked up wine/beer & some small things to make in their kitchenette.
*we absolutely would stay here again "

Bahia del Sol Beach Front Boutique Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Nice small hotel with black sand beach with gorgeous sunset and colors. The rooms are nice and large surrounding a mini jungle with nice trees and flowers.
There are 2 restaurants-bars on the property that are totally overpriced (5-star hotel prices for a 3-star plus hotel). The staff is nice and the amenities are good. The pool is small and not really clean. "

Azura Beach Resort - All Inclusive - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Overall the place was great, great people and very well organized. The only beef I have is that the AC in the rooms were poor and the property needs an ATM. Otherwise, I loved my stay, the food and the pool!!!!"

Hotel Riu Guanacaste - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed going on an eco walk with David and Kat. The staff were great. I just found the entertainment was very minimal. "

CC Beach Front Papagayo All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Drinks were made with real fruit juice and you could order whatever drink your heart desired from the two swim-up bars or other bar.. Water in the pools and ocean were so warm and inviting for swimming. We snorkelled at the end of the beach near the rocks and were happy to spot a few pretty fish, sea urchins and were at one time engulfed in a school of small green fish.
Food at the buffet was excellent with so much variety and healthy options. If you prefer not-as-health options, there was a special snack menu for burgers, fries and pizza etc.
This is a resort that is close to nature and we will plan to return for sure.
A 30 minute drive from Liberia and with our direct flight, it was an amazing resort to visit! A very relaxing mid-sized resort."

Jardín del Edén Boutique Hotel - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Words aren’t enough to describe the magical vibe of this place! If feels like we are in a jungle but it’s a luxurious resort. On our last morning, we saw a family of howler monkeys on the hotel property trees. About 5 pair of parrots flying by. Other people said they saw humming birds too.
The food was gourmet! They have amazing vegan food as well.
The garden path to the beach from the resort is an amazing idea. You have best of the both worlds - beach front and hidden jungle resort.
The staff are all so nice and welcoming. We will def come back here. "
