"Lack of shops or restaurants within walking distance was the only downside. Room (executive king) was very nice with bonus view of Sydney skyline and a rugby field just below the building. Basic kitchen. Washer and dryer. "

"Mortdale Hotel is an older property that has been renovated in the recent past. It appears the hotel is a secondary business. The desk is the bar on the main floor, not a problem. They were helpful and efficient checking us in. The commuter train runs by the hotel but the trains are quite quiet. I didn’t hear the trains unless I was awake. "Hallways were pretty drab, but the rooms were just great. Incredibly comfortable beds, top quality bed linens, wonderful shower. There is a cafe on the ground floor that was fantastic. Pretty neighborhood; and the Miranda mall is a very short walk away. We would absolutely stay there again. Price is very modest. Staff was super nice and helpful!! "

"Staff are always lovely and welcoming. Our second bedroom was locked but they sent maintenance straight up to our room to open it up. Even with the planes overhead, the rooms are very quiet and no need for the ear plugs that are provided."

"We ate dinner in the restaurant. The food was mediocre. The prices are excessive for the quality. I didn’t eat much of my risotto. I was asked late in the meal how my food was and I stated was of low taste and quality. No attempt was made to engage with me at that point after I stated that. Again at payment I was asked the same question and the more senior staff gave me $10 off. My sense is given how little I ate they would waive the charge altogether. My wife had the prawns and they were not...

"The staff was very helpful and kind..professional but personable. The location of this property is sketchy, and I did not feel safe outside after dark. Alot of trash and unkept grounds, signs of homeless. Rooms are pretty small. It's a quick 10 minute walk to Mascot station but if it was after dark I always used a cab. They say the airport transfer is free but that only applies from hotel to the airport, not vice versa. But the fee was only $10, so still a deal. Drivers and people running...

"we only stayed one night, after arriving on a 11pm flight and did not want to travel home. firstly we found parking was secure and was plentiful. As we arrived late, guest services were very helpful and quick. The room was decent in size, bed was comfortable, bathroom adequate, water pressure good, although there was a little mould in the shower. we did not use any of the other motels amenities like gym and bar"
