Check in was a breeze despite there being a wedding on a Sunday evening.
First impressions of the grand old building are great; the rooms in the annex (I was in 136) are not quite so impressive but functional.
Bar and food are all good quality if not a little overpriced (standard for a hotel).
The gym and leisure facilities are a nice extra. Gym is small, pool you can swim about 5 strokes per length but it’s ok, and jacuzzi is fine for about 3 people.
The room I stayed in was a little tired, with no aircon or fan on offer - so had to go to reception after which one was delivered after about 2-3 hours. The room was refreshed daily (not fully cleaned) which is fine.
Changing rooms in the leisure facilities are also tired with only 1 of 2 showers working properly, and neither heat adjustable so pretty hot!
