"On our travels some places make an instant impression when you first see them, and Baiona did so in a most positive way. There is a large headland reaching out from the village, with intact castellations from an old fort going all around it.
Our hotel, the Parador, is built on part of the old fort and covers a large area within the walls; and if the approach to the village made a positive impression, the approach to the Parador did so in spades. This is a grand, classy hotel both inside and out, and with terraces, lawns and footpaths all around, the views of the sea, the coast and the islands are fantastic.
Our basic double room was spacious, well decorated and furnished and very comfortable. Breakfast was also very good with a relatively small buffet, which is augmented by hot items you can order from the waitress. I had some fried eggs with bacon which were delicious.
We loved discovering Baiona for the first time and staying in this wonderful Parador made it even more special."
