"Firstly, the food was excellent. Breakfast was lovely and the supper we had on one night was superb. However, check in was rather odd - the hotel was closed (at 5pm) so we rang the number on the door. We were greeted with….’We’re not open to the public but I’ll check you in’ - not quite a welcoming experience! We were shown to the room and then there was a comment of ‘there’s sometimes a problem with the hot water up here…but you should be ok’ - what a bizarre thing to say to new guests!
