Great stay. Easy online check-in. No door key is nice. Easy parking close by. Great location.
Very clean except the floor in the main bedroom needed cleaning. No coffee or tea in room is a little bit of a bummer. However, we would definitely stay again.
This little gem has become my home away from home in Oakland. It has everything you could want in a city that already has everything—great food, cool bars, amazing music, plenty to do, etc. It's all brand new in a renovated space. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms are sparkling, and the service is impeccable. There's a rooftop courtyard, a game room, and good eats and drinks right next door. It's more comfortable than anywhere else in the Bay Area, and just as accessible. Well done all around, Oaktown Roost!
Room was comfortable and nicely furnished, and the staff was welcoming and helpful. The hotel had nice touches like the common spaces. The location is convenient to plenty of restaurants, civic spaces and walks.
Great value of the location as the center of Oakland.

Very nice boutique style hotel in the heart of Downtown Oakland. Near Lake Merritt along with countless restaurants, shops, and public transport. The room was cute, plush and comfortable with new linens, courtyard was super cute. Staff was friendly and even provided pre-check in which was seamless. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful room and building, very quiet at night, great parking accommodations, delicious food walking distance and close by to the venue we were attending. Staff was very friendly and informative. We will absolutely be returning when we need to stay in the area.
The woman at guest services was extremely nice and thoroughly showed us the grounds and gave keys. The rooms and spacious and clean but the walls are paper thin. I mean thin!
They do provide earplugs. Walking distance to multiple tasty asian restaurants, it is located in Chinatown. Parking is $40. We opted to park on the street and our car was right below and we were fine.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. We appreciate that the windows did open and supply fresh. air. There is a lovely outdoor seating area on the third floor, plus a game-room with espresso machine, hot water, large TV, etc. on the 2nd floor. The lobby is cute as shown in the site photograph. Coffee shops, cafes, downtown, sites, etc. are all within a very close walk of this hotel. I went out every morning to try new coffee shops and cafes. The hotel offered great value for the price and I would stay there again. Evenings were a little loud outside, but we were able to get good night's sleep each night of our 3-night stay, after the neighborhood quieted down. The hotel requires guests to keep quiet after 10PM. That worked well for us.
The room was clean and really nice, staff was friendly, and location was central.
The only complaint I have is that additional fee for pet was not mentioned online. All we were told is that it’s a pet friendly hotel. So paying $40 additional per night came as a surprise.
