"Check in was great, with a welcome glass of Port. Breakfast was perfect every morning with plenty of options and very scenic views. Room was little dated and the area itself is secluded. If you’re looking for that, than this is the spot. The highlight of the trip in Douro was the wine tour about an hour away. Beautiful area beautiful resort. "

"Amazing place and great location , Joao and his staff were very accommodating and helpful during my stay , would highly recommend and would book again when I’m back in Amarante , the breakfast at the bakery across the hotel was amazing and the staff there were very nice and helpful as well , I was in town in to prepare for a cycling race and they helped with a breakfast box the day of my race. "A very old and tired hotel. Room had not been aired for a long time so smelled damp and musty - I had to open the window as soon as I entered the room. Old furniture, old and dilapidated bathroom / shower. Span and gym not available. Swimming pool available but costs €18 for a swim! I dont expect to pay as a guest of the hotel. Breakfast OK - coffee cold."
