"This hotel is badly in need of maintenance and perhaps new management. The stairway carpets looked as though they had not been cleaned for weeks and must have been over 10 years old. Breakfast was in a room by the lobby and did not vary for the almost 4 weeks we were there. The room was not well attended during breakfast hours and we often had to ask them to refill the coffee machine. The outdoor pool was closed. Pets were allowed and several times we could hear them through the walls of our room. When we first arrived, the room smelled like old shoes. This smell dissipated over the first several days. The room was cleaned once or twice during our stay with new bedding, otherwise it was only cleaned on request once or twice a week which is their policy. Their landscaper would make a better butcher, as he chopped some recent blooms off of the bushes surrounding the building. The A/C unit kept the room at our selected temperature, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the Tucson city limits, but has a few restaurants of decent quality within 6 minutes. Also about 4 minutes from the hotel is one of the best Basha's in all of Tucson where we often bought things to supplement our breakfast for the next day. There was always adequate parking. For the quality of the hotel, the price was high, but most hotels of good quality were booked due to the Gem and Mineral shows and peak season for Tucson. All considered, two stars is pretty generous."
