"So close to downtown while also being woodsy and whimsical - stay here. On Saturdays a train even comes through and brings you to a train museum. This place is Magical!"

"The bar was very well stocked and had anything one would want. I was disappointed that this time on Taco Tuesday, they were unable to make me a vegetarian taco like they did last time. I went looking forward to it, and went without dinner. :-/ Luckily, I brought a few snacks. The scones and frittata at breakfast were very nice! Parking is hit or miss. I suggested they give guests a pass to put in their window to prevent non-guests from using the lot. Next time, I'll arrive well before...

"There was no one there to check me in upon arrival! A closed sign on the office, pushed the button on there intercom system & all it did was ring, nobody ever answered. I called the phone # to no avail. The next day upon check in I was asked for a $100. deposit, of which I was unaware of. When asked why they were closed when I arrived the previous night the girl at the counter said, “I didn’t work last night”, no accountability was taken! There was mold in the shower & a non working coffee maker...

"It was very quiet which was nice. Nice big fridge too. The room smelled really heavy of smoke though. My key kept having to be rekeyed. The property needs severe updating. There’s masking tape on door locks and rips in the carpet. Carpet and furniture is very old. There’s only an option to watch streaming. No real cable."

"Quiet, easy parking and no smoking room as requested. Staff was pleasant and check in took only a few minutes. Several restaurants were only a few blocks away. I will use them again when I travel that way."

"This is our second stay at the National Hotel. The property is charming and historic; however, both times, the staff have been unfriendly and seemed bothered by simple requests. We were not alone in the process."

"Julie and Ron were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcomed. The room was elegant with a very comfortable bed and huge closet. It was a very quiet stay. The inn was close to shopping and fine dining. However, there was no surface space on which to put things. There were no shelves and only a small dresser in the closet. The only surface was the bed. We constantly lived out of our bags. One must be healthy and mobile to get to the patio or to the refrigerator."
