"Our host at Au Fer à Cheval was Romain, a friendly and helpful man. He owns about 20 English thoroughbred race horses, as well as breeds them. His farm is in a beautiful location with lovely views. It was unfortunately cold and wet for the two nights that we were there, so we couldn't use the pool, and the roads were too slippery for him to take us out in his horse-drawn carriage, but we did see two of his retired racing mares with their foals. "Very accommodating and welcoming. Hosts really went above and beyond by helping my mother & I, who speak very little French, make reservations and check nearby activities. The property is interesting (in a good way!), the cats were entertaining, and breakfast was delicious. Will be back!"
