"For most this will be a non issue, but the TVs are quite old, and they have overhauled them with their own hotel interface, unfortunately for a tech head like me it made it harder to connect devices. They have Chromecast, but you'd better prey your device has it. The safe wouldnt work, and even the phone in the room (the style over substance red phone) would ring but when you picked up it wouldn't answer. The smart tech in the room seemed to have a life of its own, opening and shutting blinds...

"Hotel ist super gelegen. Zu Fuss ca. 15 min zum Hauptbahnhof, aber auch direkt Strassenbahnstation vor Hotel. Ideal gelegen für diverse Ausflüge in Oslo. Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig, aber wenig abwechslungsreich, was die Reichhaltigkeit wett macht. Zimmer recht modern und ohne Teppich. Etwas früheres Einchecken war kein Problem."

"(deluxe apartment) firstly, It isn’t mentioned in the description but you have to pay a holding deposit on arrival. There is also no information about how to check in prior the day, when you arrive to the hotel you have to call a number to get your room key. The hotel expects you to clean the room before you leave otherwise you will be charged a cleaning fee. The walls are thin - we heard arguing next door which went on for ages. There was also no bathroom hand towels or mats. Secondly, I looked...

"Great for an affordable place close to Oslo. About a 35 minute walk from the Opera House. Public transport easy to navigate! Clean and tidy place!"

"Very helpful staff. The rooms were rather small for 4 people, once the sofa bed was open. The furniture felt a little cheap. The one downside to this property is that the to get access to the metro station you need to cross over the highway over the bridge. There is a convenient bus stop close to the property."

Location was great, near Oslo central station and short walk to the Opera house. 7-11 literally across the street. Only small complaint is the shower as typical Euro style, the door doesn't fully enclose so a bit of water splashes out. First world problem though. Loved th front desk staff, very nice and helpful"

"One thing to note is that this is actually a three-star hotel, although Expedia lists it as a four-star property. We booked three rooms: the single room was super tiny, and one of the Queen Bed rooms felt cramped and was much smaller than the other despite being the same price. The shower water temperature also fluctuated quite a bit. The breakfast was good with a variety of options."

"The hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk to a lot of the places we wanted to see and the activities we planned. The breakfast was delicious. There was always a wide variety of options. The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Amerikalinjen for your stay in Oslo."

"We stayed in a junior suite, which was quite roomy and comfortable. Seating area had a loveseat and two chairs as well as a small desk. Staff were quite helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, with espresso drinks available as well as excellent drip coffee. In general the room was quiet, although the restaurants eight floors down and across the street had service until 3 a.m., so there was some street noise on the weekend we were there. Earplugs were enough to drown it out, but light sleepers...
