"I stayed at the AKA White House for just one night, and since it's an apartment hotel, my room was huge, as large or larger than my own condominium. It was beautifully furnished with a full kitchen, a powder room, washer/dryer, and closed off bedroom with full bath/shower. I was hardly able to enjoy all the amenities in a single night's stay, but I was impressed and the space was very clean. "Way too expensive for the room. Entrance smelled like urine. Also the one night of sleep that I had was abruptly ruined by jack hammers and pipes banging at 6:03am!! I was wondering why there was ear plugs next to the bed until I was woken up. No notice of construction on the site or even at front desk. For someone who travels very often if the hotel knows there is construction - they tell you. "

"The building and hallways are dated and have that old smell. The apartment itself was clean upon entry. It was decorated nice. However, when we went to cook many of the dishes were dirty. We also started moving the decorative plates off the dining table to eat dinner and had roaches run from under the plates. I got a picture of a baby one that I will include. "We loved our room here. We had a studio apartment on the first floor and it was just what we wanted. We were able to get some groceries nearby and make some meals in our room which is a big plus. The rooms were clean and spacious and the location is perfect. Right off the subway to get anywhere you need to go in DC. So many cool buildings and things to see while walking around the area. Definitely a lot of history. "
