"I gave this property 5/5 for the incredible staff and the breathtaking views. The team was genuinely kind, welcoming, and one of the highlights of our stay.
Unfortunately, there were several disappointments that future guests should know about.
The biggest issue was the location. The hotel is on the quieter side of the island, far from the main attractions and nightlife. More importantly, the hotel’s “private beach” is not suitable for swimming because it is covered with large rocks. If you’re expecting a sandy beach, you’ll be disappointed. The nearest swimmable sandy beach is about a 15-minute walk away, or you’ll need to rent a car and drive to another area.
The hotel itself also feels dated. While it is clean, the rooms and bathrooms are noticeably older and could benefit from renovations.
I also relied on Expedia’s ratings when booking this property. After sharing my concerns during my stay, I was disappointed that Expedia was unable to offer any meaningful assistance or alternative accommodations. That experience has made me question how much I can rely on their ratings in the future.
If you decide to stay here, I strongly recommend renting a car so you can enjoy the island’s beautiful beaches and explore the surrounding towns. Without one, you’ll likely miss out on much of what makes the destination so special."
"Amazing stay here! The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained, and the location was absolutely perfect—10/10. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!"
"AMAZING PROPERTY. Loved being away from the busy town and enjoyed the peace and quiet. All new fully modern property with good amenities. Pool is nice just a bit cold especially with such a great breeze yoy get. George and his wife that own and run the hotel are so nice and helpful. They arranged pick up service and car rental for us. Their breakfast in the mornings is soooo good. It's 35 min from town and 25 min from Plaka Beach but there is a nice beach 2 min walk from hotel that is nice and quiet too. A few dining options nearby and a market 4 min walk too was convenient. Highly recommend staying here!!!!"
"Air conditioning was wonderful! Beautiful view from the room. Great coffee downstairs. Extremely kind staff. If you need to buy groceries, I would advise to do so before arriving. There are some things available at the mini market."
"Pangaia is a beautiful place to stay in Koufonisia. Breakfast is always fresh and yummy. Stuff is friendly and very helpful. The room is outstanding! Totally recommend!"
"One of kind small boutique hotel near the port in Amorgos. I was really not sure what to expect when arriving to Amorgos. It was our first time there and the Amorgion hotel was sort of a last minute booking. From arrival our family of four was completely blown away with how beautiful the hotel was itself with its amazing positioning in the hills and it's view of the sea.
We were picked up at the Ferry and the check in process was a breeze. The interaction with the staff was extremely pleasant and personable. We were made to feel like family. The hotel manager went above and beyond to help us with a same day car rental and an amazing small lunch with local wine. The entire stay at Amorgion Village was unforgettable. We loved the main port town with its seaside restaurants and cafes. We also took a ride to the hillside Monastery of the Panagia which was also and unforgettable experience.
The only regret we have was only staying for 1 night and truly can't wait to return to this wonderful little island. I would not hesitate booking this small boutique style hotel."
