Having made a reservation through Expedia and having received emailed confirmations, on my arrival at Grand Hotel, the staff had not the foggiest idea I was coming. On arrival, grateful to considerate receptionist for moving two senior guests to a room not requiring stairs.
A microwave and bottle of cold water in the room would be helpful especially when arriving after dining room closed.

"Had a choice to stay here while visiting Whangarei. The room was tidy, and the bed was super comfy. As a solo traveller, I found the location very handy and felt totally safe. Heaps of parking right outside, which was sweet as. The staff are absolute legends, so helpful and friendly. Cheers for the great hospitality!"
