"The Opal Sol was absolutely beautiful. My best friend and I stayed at the Opal Sands last year and decided to stay at the Sol this year. The location is perfect and in close/walking distance to local bars, restaurants and shops. The resort is exceptionally clean, rooms are beautiful, beds are extremely comfortable and the views are spectacular. We found that the Sol lacked in the room service area. We ordered a pot of coffee each morning as the Keurig coffee was blah. The coffee was delivered promptly, but on two occasions without cups and by the time the cups were delivered, the coffee was cold. Last year when we stayed at the Sands, we LOVED the Amaretto French Toast and we were disappointed that it wasn’t on the menu at the restaurant “Toast” at the Sol. It was still on the menu at the “Sea Guini” at the Sands, but we were unable to order it through room service so we had to walk over to pick it up. Being that the buildings are attached, it would be great if it was possible to order room service from restaurants from both hotels. This year, we decided not to pack toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) because the full bottle offerings in the shower at the Sands were awesome! We were disappointed when we checked into the Sol and only tiny bottles were available. They weren’t the same quality at all and we had to go to the local Walgreens to buy full bottles which we ended up leaving at the resort because we didn’t want to check bags at the airport. "

"This was a good stay! The breakfast buffet is a great spread. The only issue was that the pool is under construction and that was not advertised prior to booking."

"Room was older and not as clean as I would typically expect to see for the price. We also had issues with coordinating housekeeping services throughout our stay which left us reusing towels, running low on toilet paper and overflowing garbage bin for much of the week. They finally did clean on our room on the 4th night when I asked at the front desk but they only left 2 towels and we never did get the daily complimentary waters (other than the first day). Thank goodness for Instacart! There was an alarm that went off at odd times of the day and would continue to go off for an extended period of time, some even late at night. I was also disappointed to see there was no microwave in the room. What this property did have going for it was an amazing location. It is right on the beach, amazing views and so close to the pier. There is also a Starbucks connected through the ground floor which was awesome and super close to all the shops."

"The beach view was fantastic. Unfortunately the hotel staff being short staffed had its downside to our over all experience . The staff were pleasant and accommodating . Property could use up-dating."

"The ocean was not visible from my room but the hotel had a private area directly on the beach. The entire place was very clean. The staff was very friendly. They always had fresh coffee, room and pool towels available. We had an enjoyable time in the pool and hot tub and was in walking distance to many great restaurants."
