We were flying LAX to Chicago connecting to PEO. The LAX flight to Chicago was delayed causing us to miss out PIA flight and had to fly to peoria the next day. While getting my flight information straightened out Expedia and myself both contact Motel 6 informing them I would not be able to make it in time to check in and was told by staff at the Motel 6 it didn't matter, there was no refund.

This was the dirtiest motel room I have ever been in. The walls and floors were filthy. The bathroom looked like it had been in a flood. The door was falling apart and there was mold on the vanity. The TV remote was missing the battery cover, so the TV didn't work. The hotel smelled like beer and cigarettes.

The room was dirty, The toilet was dirty, there were cockroaches And even though it was supposed to be non-smoking everybody on the floor was smoking. We had to leave.

There was no hair dryer nor in room coffee. Floors are bare and when people are above you, their foot steps can be heard .

Check in took 45 minutes due to the room in my reservation having been given to an earlier guest. It took about 25 minutes to determine that was why they were unable to locate my reservation. A solution that had been offered prior to making that determination was for me to pay the current rate, which was almost triple what I had paid earlier through Expedia, despite me showing a receipt with Expedia that confirmed I had reserved the room. Even after the hotel confirmed it was their mistake it took about another 20 minutes for the hotel to agree to provide another room at no additional cost. One request the hotel made after it was determined they gave my room to another guest was for me to cancel my Expedia reservation so I could make a new reservation with them at the price I had paid but I noted I should not have to do so since it was confirmed they gave my room to another guest and it was therefore their error to fix. I was in contact with an Expedia representative via a chat box during a majority of the time we were working through the issue. It would have been more helpful to call an Expedia representative but I was unable to easily locate an Expedia customer service phone number. A suggestion would be to include an Expedia customer service number in the confirmation email. The room was not very cleanly. The wall behind the nightstand had beverage streaks going down it. The bed cover also had stains on it. Otherwise the hotel was nice and the staff was nice.

It smells of urine. We tried checking for bed bugs, but the mattresses are stained so badly we couldn’t. The furniture was all chewed up. We asked to be refunded and left. Some creepy man followed us to our car.

I booked a two-night stay here but checked out after the first night because the room was in unacceptable condition. When we arrived, the room clearly had not been cleaned. There was urine on the toilet, the pillowcases were dirty, and many surfaces looked like they had not been wiped down at all. The window was open with no screen, which made it feel unsafe and unsanitary. I actually had to go to the store and buy cleaning supplies just to make the room usable. I even had to stand on a towel to take a shower because the bathroom floor and tub did not feel clean. I also had to request new sheets because the ones on the bed were dirty when we arrived. For a paying guest, this is completely unacceptable. I booked through Expedia for two nights but chose to leave after the first night due to the conditions. I strongly suggest management take cleanliness and room inspections more seriously.

Very close to shopping and food, but, property needs a good cleaning, repairs, and a coat of paint everywhere. I should have suspected the property was not in good condition based upon the price per night. The friends I was visiting in Peoria made me promise not to stay there again—based on reputation and number of police calls.

Room overall clean, could use some touch up of the paint. Bathroom door broken and wouldn’t fully close, food or something splashed on the ceiling over the sink. The hallway did not smell great. For the price, not terrible and it’s nice they allow pets but probably would not stay again.
