"The property was the best we’ve ever stayed at. It was very handy for the town but in a very quiet spot.
The owner was very friendly and informative.
We had a very relaxing break and would highly recommend. "

"We were in town for the Race Across Scotland - crew stayed here throughout the week, and two of us who ran it were here after we finished. Was a close drive to Cocksburnpath, and to other surrounding areas. Great spot for 4 folks, and having laundry was a huge bonus. Lovely property."

"We stayed for 2 nights.
3 adults and 2 children. The Coach House was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.
There was a lot to do in the area and some lovely walks. "

"The property was good, upside down property, set in a lovely harbour town. Locals friendly. Amazing ice cream shop. The attached fish and chip shop was very busy too. Parking was roadside, not guaranteed, opposite the property. We arrived at the end of the Herring Queen Festival, which was packed out. We struggled to even unload, but obviously that wasn't something we knew about prior to booking. After that had finished, parking wasn't really a problem. A few niggles with property but it didn't...

"The house and facilities are fantastic, in fact it felt so homely and welcoming we did not want to come home.
The owners are lovely people very friendly and helpful

Love the art around the gardens, fenced in garden great for our pooches.
Definitely going back, need to suss the bath as couldn't get hot water but this was an "us" fault not there's as we are rubbish with reading instructions.

"Staff delightful, nothing too much trouble. Nice and clean, and what you would expect from a 17th century establishment, and comfortable. Parking was secure and easily accessible. You are in the centre of the village. Easy access to other areas of the Scottish Borders. Evening tends to close early so make sure you bring a good book. "
"Hotel is conveniently located in the attractive town centre where there is a good selection of restaurants and cafes. Good views at the back of the river. "
"Hotel just outside Peebles, good location if you have a car. Parking at hotel was fine.
Room felt a bit tired and needed a little attention. Good size and outlook.

"Another great stay at the Townhouse, traditional well maintained and spotless hotel with lovely staff and great food. If hungry the Scottish breakfast is superb. Excellent value and look forward to returning."
"We stayed in tower for 2 nights - quiet and spacious room. Lovely old house on outskirts hawick. Pet friendly without additional charge. Doors were lying open to other rooms and they all looked lovely. Unfortunately restaurant was closed on both the sat and sun which didn't know until after booking. We had eaten there before and were looking forward to trying again. Hotel is about 30 min walk to centre where a few other choices (although limited off season on sun). Is a nice path along river. Small touches would make a difference though to experience - showing guests to room on arrival and asking if they need any help (vs just being handed key); replacing worn items; ensuring a hairdryer in room; upgrading artwork and accessories to reflect the creativity in the area - (consider showcasing/ supporting elocal artists work); have some real plants instead just artifical; fix broken handrails and paving on the paths in the grounds. Breakfast was fine as had choice cooked items although was more limited than i've experienced elsewhere in similar class hotels e.g. smoked salmon and poached eggs was just that rather than eggs benedict. Appreciate it is hard in this industry but it is the small touches that you remember that would push it up a star."
