The rooms are spacious but they need to be cleaned better. need to use some lysol or other cleaner for deodorizing or air out rooms that have not been used for a while
So bad I did not take shower. Slept with 1 eye open

The place is under new management & staff was helpful. It needs improvements but the bed was comfortable. The price was right for a quick sleep on a long trip. My room smelled a bit like it had been closed up for a long time. I hope they continue with making it what it once was.
Family of four, two parents two kids, we needed a place for 1 night close to 95 so we could continue our drive north. Location could not be better - get off the highway, its right there, get right back on the highway. No drama, no traffic. To be frank, some of the comments on this place made me nervous for cleanliness, but those must have been old because our room was spotless when we came in, clean sheets, etc. The beds were pretty comfortable for a motel, but not luxurious.
Check-in was easy. One guy, but he knew what he was dong and processed us easily and quickly. Breakfast from 7 to 9am. Cereal, muffins, bread, coffee, orange juice. Nothing fancy, totally as advertised.

About what I expected for the price. Nothing fancy.
Making a stop to rest. No restaurant in area. Had to travel about 5 miles to closest restaurant. Everything in motel looked dingy.

Small room, scary bathroom
The room was the smallest motel room I can recall every having stayed in. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well. The outer bathroom seems to have been redone recently, but the inner bathroom was very old and leaky. I would pass on this motel unless the location is just right for your purposes.
Horrible hotel stay away!!!! They triple charged me for my room and still havnt been reimbursed. I pre paid through hotels.con and when I arrived the night attendant assured me I didn't pre pay and he then double charged me for my room plus the pre paid. I've had to dispute through my bank because they would not refund me. Stay away!!!! And then the Bed bugs. Was bitten all night and noticed when I woke up. Horrible horrible horrible hotel.

Everything just seemed small. The toilet was very low to the floor and I just recently had knee surgery so it was hard to sit. The beds were low to the floor. The towels and washcloths were dingy and not bright white. The toilet was also stained.
I love motels, mainly because you get to park right outside your room and they are usually larger and quieter than the big hotels. The Gateway Inn is no exception. Don't expect frills or it to be fancy, just a good, comfortable & quiet sleep for a great price.
After driving over 10 hours, we needed to stop. After booking we showed up to hotel, the desk person was not friendly at all. Would not give us extra towels saying room has towels. Room was dirty and heat was not working properly. Set at high 90 it was barely keeping the room warm. Thank God it wasn't freezing out. If we weren't so tired, we would of left. Bathroom was filthy looking, we didn't even shower here. Big sign saying under new management, but with their customer service i don't see how they will last long. Beware.

Comfortable stopover
Clean basic accommodation with quiet location, easy access from I95 and useful amenities such as microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker. Excellent friendly staff.
Sketchy location in a middle of the woods. Nothing nearby, except for another sketchy gas station. Customer service was alright, but everything else was not. Dirty carpet, dirty towels. No hot water. I found bugs in my bed. The sound of the refrigerator along with the sound of the AC left me sleepless. If you can pay a bit more and stay elsewhere, please do...for your own sanity. Good less learned! Read less
Dirty and smells. They gave me two rooms both were filthy and unacceptable for anyone to stay in.

Fine for a place to rest your head
We just needed a place to sleep after getting tired on the road. We got what we paid for. The owner was nice. The room was mostly clean, but there was hair behind the door of the bathroom- ick. Bathroom needed updating. The continental breakfast was sorry. Only cereal, muffins and bread for toast.

Cheap, simple, fairly priced
My room was simple but clean and comfortable, and inexpensive. The included continental breakfast is ok but very limited options.
The rate is cheap, and the reason is the hotel is worn, dated and not so clean. Carpet terribly stained, bathroom tile floor had what looked like tons of watermarks scattered all over, but a simple wipe with one of the stained washcloths didn't budge the markings. I don't know if it's just worn in dirt now or what. The linens smelled clean but were stained. The bathroom tile was in poor shape. The plumbing fixtures were loose, and the shower head was atrocious (filthy and half the nozzles were clogged with mineral deposits - the shower was actually painful). There were long black hairs on the tub. I am bald. Enough said. On the good side, the AC worked pretty well, the mattress was reasonably comfortable, and the front desk gentleman was friendly.

OK for Traveling
We were traveling and need to stop due to severe weather. We made our reservation through an online booking site. The motel is older and the room was in need of some refurbishing. The room was stuffy probably because it was warm and the air was not on. The bed was firm and we rested sufficiently.
