Enjoy a deluxe seaside holiday in this quiet fishing village on Vietnam’s southeast coast, known for its beautiful beach, fresh seafood, temples and watersports.

Treat yourself to a luxurious beach holiday in Phan Thiet, an idyllic fishing village and resort town on Vietnam’s southeast coast. The capital of Binh Thuan province was once better known for its fish sauce, but is quickly becoming a popular destination for holiday makers seeking Vietnam’s sand and sea. Relax or try watersports on Phan Thiet’s long and peaceful beach, explore scenic sand dunes, embark on a sightseeing boat trip and sample the local cuisine.

Begin your Phan Thiet holiday by exploring the village’s coast. Stroll along Phan Thiet’s long stretch of beach and take a seat in a shady spot beneath a palm tree or a rented thatch umbrella. Swim in the clear, ultramarine water or take kitesurfing lessons from one of the watersports schools on the beach.

Visit the fishing harbour where the Phan Thiet River meets the sea. Hundreds of brightly colored fishing boats crowd the harbour’s moorings. Watch as the boats return after a day’s work and head into the village to enjoy a fresh Vietnamese-style meal, such as seafood phở or fish spiced with lemongrass and chili.

Explore Phan Thiet’s picturesque pagodas. Linh Song Truong Tho pagoda is located among the lush forest of Ta Cu Mountain. Catch a scenic cable car up the mountain and trek up the stairway to a tranquil temple. Here, you can see an enormous white-marble statue of a reclining Buddha. Stop by the stunning Po Sah Inu Cham Tower on your way back to the village to see a magnificent Cham temple area, established in the 7th century. Take in exceptional sunset views of the Phan Thiet coastline.

Kick back with a drink at one of the bars in Phan Thiet or return to your hotel for an evening of pampering and beauty therapy treatments.

Phan Thiet is just 132 miles (212 kilometres) east from Ho Chi Minh City. Fly in to Ho Chi Minh City International Airport and reach Phan Thiet by car, tourist coach or local train in approximately 5 hours. Enjoy calm seas and Phan Thiet’s dry season between November and April.
