"Elegant - classic hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, great location on the river with complimentary shuttle boat rides. I would rate 4.5 stars - the rooms are comfortable with large bathrooms but they are clearly dated. The in room technology works but seems to be from the 1990’s (other Peninsula hotels have newer in room technology). The furniture in the room, as the sofa, and the carpet need to be updated. The SPA is of high quality and offers great treatments. Restaurant selection is a bit limited- I definitely recommend the River Cafe and the buffet for dinner with a Thai and international section (not à la carte). There are basically only two restaurants for dinner since the on site Chinese restaurant just closed (no information on when it will reopen). Peninsula should invest into updating this hotel - it is beautiful and the staff are outstanding - that makes the difference. "

"My travel group of 5 had a good stay here at this hotel due to the luggage service staff. The luggage service staff was very helpful when we had questions about transportation. Definitely a big help for my group and I since we’re not familiar with the Bangkok area. They were able to set up a full day driver for our one full day in Bangkok and also airport transportation to BKK. The breakfast staff in the omelette making section could have better communication with their staff. I requested for a regular omelette from one of the employees and when I came back after 5 minutes and the omelette wasn’t made yet. There was a European couple in waiting for their requests and they were given their food. I’m not sure what happened but in the future they should treat all hotel guests the same. I definitely felt uncomfortable after that. Luckily it was my last day at the hotel. Also the pool attendant wasn’t very friendly at all. I made the mistake by moving the pillows from the chair to one of the long chairs. He yelled at me that I couldn’t do that. He could have came over to me instead of yelling at me from his desk to let me know that wasn’t allowed. I definitely felt embarrassed after that and just decided to go back to my room."

"Beautiful view (riverside suite), fantastic buffet breakfast, very polite and helpful staff! Pool area was beautiful though we did not swim. The riverboat shuttle to Sathon Pier was very convenient and we used it almost every day. "
