This place was very pleasant to stay at. The building itself is quite old but everything was clean and the staff was wonderful.

The property is very old but maintained. It was reasonably clean but style was outdated. The location is excellent for exploring the area. We choose the property because there was nothing else available. It was perfectly adequate for one night.

Love the quaintness and the older look but some things do need updating. Curtains are terrible and stained. Shower head was smaller than actual knob for turning it on. Overall cute place though.

It was unusually warm so windows needed to be open in our room. Unfortunately we didn’t sleep well as room 228 appears to be towards the back of the kitchen area where a very early delivery was made around 6am making a lot of noise. Sleep impossible. This was a stopover to get some rest on a very long journey so unfortunately we were more tired than we’d planned. Nice looking hotel and grounds with easy parking.

Hotel had good amenities. Nice spacious bar and outside sitting area. Great for staying with dog and 5 minutes walk to centre of Pitlochry. Would definitely stay again.

Good hotel, might look dated in some aspects in the common area . The room I slept in seems to have been modernized but the tv system is cruelly small considering the distance from the beds. A better isolation from the pool section might be desired . Rooms 1,-5 are passing close to the pool section which leave a smell of chlorine when passing through much of the day.

An older building,could do with some t.l.c but over all a really nice stay. Staff were lovely plenty of hot water and everything worked, really enjoyed the pool etc.

A lovely setting. Staff were all lovely. A good breakfast. The hotel is looking a little tired in general. I understand it’s an old building but keeping on top of rotting wood around the shower or painting jobs could be looked at. The hotel was clean.

The building, beautiful, the main area’s inside are lovely, the bedrooms could be cleaner and brighter, for us we had the weekend including breakfast and dinner, breakfast 10/10 dinner on both nights 4/10 in my opinion the dinner was not value for money, overall stay for us 6 out of 10 would have been 8/10 if evening meals were better

Kettle was not working in the room. In the room 129 floor was very uneven. Car parking facilities are terrible. I am a Blue Badge holder and at 8.00pm on the 8th when I arrived there was no parking. The overflow car park was full of cars and some service vehicles. Looking at the vehicles I don’t think they were residents at the hotel.

Hi, thank you for posting. I have checked the kettle and it was unplugged. Apologies for the issue with the car park; the hotel is very busy at the moment, and even a large car park like ours is sometimes full. Best Artur

Staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. We had dinner in the restaurant, sirloin steak was cooked to perfection and the fish and chips were to die for!

Friendly staff, nice big rooms , big single beds , food choices in restaurant and bar was very good and plentiful. The swimming pool and jacuzzi w are an added bonus.

A warm comfortable hotel. Good food and choice, Spacious warm bedrooms with every facility. The Spa, was excellent and a great addition. Yes, the hotel does need updating, the windows and paintwork, but it did not in any way make our stay less comfortable. The price was competitive and would definitely stay here again.

Had a nice stay at the Pitlochry Hydry. Albeit it is extremely dated and straight out the 80’s the rooms are relatively clean and tidy. A smell of wet dog in our room. The pool and sauna were nice and relaxing. Thanks

Tatty rooms, we paid for a superior room, and it was cheap, office like furniture- room was large, but in no way worth the money spent. Service was average at best, no music in the bar or at the pool, so it had no atmosphere at all. The pool amenities weren’t good either, lots of broken lockers, we chose this hotel in part for the jacuzzi , which took approx 20-30mins to become operational again after one use. Very old and guests were sitting in it when off, on cleaning cycle. We waited 45 mins in the pool and didn’t get to use the jacuzzi or sauna as they were small or out of service. I wouldn’t stay here again. When we checked out, no one was at reception so we couldnt even feedback to them in person our disappointment.

Plenty of free parking. Quiet area close to the town centre. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Bar and restaurant available. Would definitely book again if working in the area.

The room was manky. The carpet was actually disgusting it made me baulk. Stained, like urine. Dust on top of pictures about 1cm thick. Duvet was torn. Shower terrible. No heater in bathroom. General cleanliness was so so poor.

The property could do with revamp pure quality lighting in the rooms. Well left was outdated. Staff went walking around with uniforms on every day clothing slate organization that menu wasn’t very great. Specially, the fish cake, coffee spelt over a carton, very uneven floor in the rooms and in the corridors I think the place needs a serious update in interior

Good 3 star hotel
Lovely stay at Pitlochry Hydro. Receptionist on arrival, was not very welcoming but did his job. Other staff encountered were friendly and helpful. Breakfast hot and varied. Did not use leisure facilities. Room and facilities were the standard we expected for 3 star large hotel. Enjoyed our stay for exploring Pitlochry and surrounding area.
