"Stayed 4 nights in the hotel and can tell they really pay attention to every single detail. Loved the decor and the concept of simplicity. Poolside was relaxing with the view of mountain landscapes. Breakfast was excellent with great variety. Attentive staffs with a smiley face. Will be back absolutely!"

"Die Zimmer waren sehr groß. Wir waren zu fünft und hatten ein zweistöckiges Zimmer mit drei Bädern und einer voll eingerichteten Küche inkl. Waschmaschine. Das war super. Das Frühstück war okay. Man hat was gefunden und ist satt geworden. Es gab Baguette, Brötchen, Käse, Wurst, Müsli etc. Das Abendessen hat uns nicht geschmeckt. "We were greeted with a complimentary drink on arrival which was very welcome after a flight delay of an hour and a half! Smiling and helpful staff at reception and made us feel very confident we’d be taken care of. "Heating insufficient and hotel did not answer my questions about that. Shower moldy and broken, we did not dare use it. Toilet unusable for a normal size person, the sink blocks you from sitting down (my wife was able to squeeze in diagonally). "I suppose the kindest thing to say is that The Monkey Room is a "work in progress". The hotel/hostal is right in the centre of Marbella Old Town and although it sets out in adverts to be "chic" and "cool" it has a long way to go. While I was there a workman was on site preparing another cubby hole as a bedroom and I think my room was only half-finished. The nights were cold and only a single sheet covered the bed and, after moving my room to the one in the photo (instead of on the roof) I found...

"Although we requested a double bed we were given two single beds which disrupted our sleep significantly and our bathroom and toilet were tiny and it was almost impossible to use the toilet and it all cost almost 1,400 €!!"
