Excellent location right in the heart of Lava! Perfect for anyone looking to spend a nice weekend enjoying everything Lava has to offer including the nightlife.
An older building, with grungy carpet. That was part of the charm—most places in Lava are older. And the location is great—convenient to walking to Main St and hot springs. But our issue was with the heating source. There’s no way to regulate it. It’s old and is either “hot” with air blowing full force (too hot to sleep comfortably) or off.
Quick stop in Idaho on our way to Jackson Hole. Stayed for 2 days, enjoyed the hot springs and breakfast at the nearby Wagon Wheel. Hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. Directv was a plus.
The room was small but had all we needed. Would be nice to have a night stand and light on both sides of the bed. Room was clean and comfy.

It’s an older property ( as is most of Lava Hot Springs.) They have done a terrific job with updating this one! My only concern was mold from condensation on the bottom of the windows. I know this is a huge problem with winter and moisture. But I think they should wipe off the mold after each client. It’s important!
My wife called the week before asking about cleanliness and how old it was/condition (she needs things clean and up to date, is afraid of germs with 2 kids) and the lady said it was good no issues. We arrived and realized it wasn't... hadn't been updated in probably 20 years. dust, mold, stuff that wasn't welcoming at all. The ceiling looked like it was breaking in in the middle, furniture was really old.
I said my kids needed to get home and we were leaving, asked for a refund, and she wouldn't. We left anyway. My wife emailed back the next week and got us a refund. The lady up front was super nice, and I'm very grateful she gave us a refund (as we literally dropped our bags and that's it), but really annoying that my wife called specifically asking about cleanliness and condition, and it wasn't like the lady said at all. Was my wife's birthday, and kind of ruined it. We won't be going back... Update your building... Gross!
One night stay. We arrived late, not sure if Julie is the owner but she was nice and made sure we settled in. The one queen room was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the lava pool and places to eat.
We stayed in Suite 4 which is on the ground floor. It was spacious and clean. The kitchen was fairly well equipped with cooking and dining gear for 4 people. Dish-soap was provided but no sponge or scrubber. We did some stove top cooking but did not use the oven, so cannot comment on the functionality of the oven. The microwave is not very powerful, so your bag of popcorn may need more time. The king-size bed in the private bedroom was firm and extremely comfortable as were the pillows, However, there was only one nightstand and bed-side lamp. I would suggest that the management address this issue, because it was my only complaint regarding the bedroom. Our teenagers did not complain about the pull out bed in the living room. The rooms were maintained at a very pleasant temperature.
There is a stairwell on the shared wall with Suite 4 and when in use can be somewhat loud in the bedroom. However, despite its closeness to the Blue Moon Bar, the music on Friday night was not too loud. We were there on a weekend where all guests were staying two nights, so the management was not on site but could be reached if needed by phone. We needed more sugar for our coffee, but did not think that our need was urgent enough to bother calling them :-).
We will certainly consider this place again if we revisit Lava.
Family of 5 and we stayed in room 6. It was perfect with 2 private rooms and a living room with hideabed. Bathrrom was a bit small but doable since we dont live there lol. Kitchen was nice sized and loved that we had a full size fridge. We were wuthin walking distance to do everything that Lava has to offer. We had no problem with parking since we stayed during the week and not over a weekend. I feel like if we would have stayed over a weekend then we might have had some noises at later hours sunce the bar and the hotel share a wall. But for our stay and with our room we had none to complain about.
The place stunk horribly and was disgusting. Sheets were stained.
Bed was so rickety that it woke our daughter in the other room every time we moved.
Sound protection is non existent. Light walking and talking was heard like it was in your own room.
We ended up leaving after one night even though we paid for 2. Never been more excited to leave a vacation.
Our room was super nice, I was a little sad we were only staying one night. It’s an easy walk from everything in lava hot springs, I would definitely stay again!
Everything was great, the perfect place to stay for a get away, right in the middle of everything. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. I would stay again.
We loved the kitchen! It was fully stocked (with everything) - allowing for us to prepare excellent meals during our stay. Beds were comfy.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that also had 2 hide a bed couches and a full kitchen. You could easily sleep 8 but the single bathroom is very small so not ideal for larger families.
The clerk that checked us in was very nice and told us how to reach her with any problems. There is not a full time front desk available.
When we walked into the room there was a very strong smell, the kids said it smelled like maple syrup and sausage. Not unpleasant but a little annoying.
We loved the kitchen and full size fridge to stock drinks. We also bought things to make breakfast in the morning.
Beds and bedding were in good condition and bathroom towels were thick, fluffy, and appeared new. The bathroom door lock was jammed and we were unable to fully close the door or we would be locked in.
Lava Suites is in a good location. The tube rental we used was close and the “Tuber Uber” picked us up and dropped us off from there. Royal pizza, the grocery store, the liquor store, the Blue Moon bar, and the ice cream parlor are all within walking distance.
Overall I would give this a good rating and plan on staying there again next time we go to Lava.
