Loved our stay here. It's a beautiful property with comfortable rooms. Breakfast is self-served, and the kitchen is well stocked with pastries, cereals, coffee, tea, juices and yogurt. The common breakfast and sitting areas make it likely you'll meet some interesting fellow guests.
Staff shows up daily for cleaning, but there is no desk or regular staff: you let yourself in with a lock code, clean up your own breakfast dishes, and can grab some extra bedding from the hall closet if needed.
FYI for travelers with disabilities: this historic house is not accessible, and requires walking and carrying your luggage up and down stairs.
Bottom line: this is one of the best places I've stayed in Portland, and will happily return when the opportunity arises.
