Hotel U Prince Prague is wonderfully located right on Old Town Square, offering incredible walkability and views. You’re literally steps from the Prague Astronomical Clock, and we stayed around Christmas time, when the Christmas market was set up right outside the hotel—an absolutely magical atmosphere. Dining options are everywhere, and the energy of the square is hard to beat.
One important thing to note is access: taxis cannot drive directly to the hotel due to Old Town restrictions, so you’ll need to walk about half a block with your luggage from the nearest drop-off point. Not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of if you’re traveling with heavy suitcases.
The rooms are charming, clean, and full of character. The hotel décor is eclectic, fun, and thoughtfully done. The staff was lovely and welcoming.
For a four-star hotel, complimentary water should really be provided. There was none in the room, and purchasing water nearby was surprisingly expensive—around $5 a bottle, very much airport pricing. I would recommend avoiding the small convenience shops in the immediate area, which are extremely overpriced and clearly geared toward tourists.
The hotel restaurant looked lively, clean, and inviting. We only had a light snack and didn’t fully explore the food offerings, but it appeared very nice.
