A tourist trap, and one we fell right into. Extremely disappointed.
We had multiple safety concerns, when we called to discuss we were asked to message via WhatsApp instead (so the staff didn’t have to discuss our concerns in front of new customers) with a promise of resolution straight away. 2 hours and multiple phone calls later, we were eventually offered another apartment (which was declined as it was in a completely different area of town, 30 minutes walk away with luggage).
While there were LOTS of small inconveniences, our safety concerns included:
- No smoke or carbon monoxide alarms, despite the apartment page showing these were fitted
- A wardrobe that fell onto our 7 year old child when they opened the door
- A shower that scalded our 10 year old after suddenly changing temperature, and was nearly unusable by adults for the duration of our stay
- A window from the buildings communal hallway directly into the apartments shower cubicle (frosted glass, but still….)
The response from staff when we raised these concerns? “Nobody else has complained before”
Despite there being nearly 60 photos of the apartments online, none of them were for our apartment- and I can understand why.
The wardrobe issue was “fixed” by placing a screw through a bit of unrelated plastic (a pipe and angle measure guide), the wardrobe backing and into the wall.
We wished we had spent our entire stay at our previous accommodation (Three Golden Crowns Apartments- fantastic experience)
