"Very basic two star hotel on the outskirts of town. The room was very small, but perfectly clean, with a very comfortable bed, and blissfully, air conditioned in the middle of a brutal heatwave. The breakfast spread was also pretty basic, but surprisingly quite good. The young ladies working the reception and breakfast area were lovely, professional, and very helpful with suggestions for restaurants for dinner. This was a very last minute booking over a very busy weekend, and my main gripe...

"Obnoxious, arrogant and incompetent. Never experienced such poor staff in all my travels. Messed up my booking instead of a 6 bed premier lodge in front of all the animals I ended up with a 4 bed safari lodge right in the bottom of the valley due to incompetence from Virginie in reception. And when I pointed out she’d messed up my booking she then refused to talk to me. Then she proceeded to lie and call a director who was just as incompetent. They would not refund me the difference in...

"Came for one night, and ended up staying for three, because we never wanted to leave. This is a pure haven for anyone just wanting to relax, calm their nerves and take in the beautiful evening sky whilst hanging in a pool. With kind horses all around, and the sound of nature and wind in the trees. With only a few rooms, you never experience too much of a crowd, and only the best people seem to end up here. "For the price €103, it absolutely wasn't worth it. It is situated in the middle of nowhere. You have to arrange your breakfast yourself for the next morning. The only thing you get in the evening before, is a bag with bread and some marmelade. The fridge is hardly filled and you have to make your thea or coffee yourself. Besides the awfull smell in the sleepingroom it is an accomodation far beyond nowadays standards. We thought we had become in a horror movie of the worst kind."

Village Normandy Garden Pierre & Vacances

"Accommodation very clean and well equipped, in need of some tlc paintwork very damaged ,beds very comfortable we all slept well . Food in the restaurant really good ,its a shame the bar area is open very limited times so if you wanted a drink or a coffee only available when restaurant open ,nothing else close without a good 15 to 20 min drive.Good pools but awful smell in the changing rooms ."

"Only one remark. Someone used the room before my Mom s arrival and rested on thr left side of the bed. Then didn't t fix it, and we could see the room.had been used."

Les Jardins de Deauville

8/10 Good

"Nice hotel in the nice surroundings. Rather big and clean heated pool, facilities around the pool are well-maintened. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy enough. Substantial car park territory. Staff is very polite, professional and helpful. WiFi quality could be better. Breakfast is tasty however choices are rather limited as for 4 star hotel. Overall hotel is a bit outdated. Great minus - absence of AC on the first and second floor, which is a problem for comfy rest in a hot weather. Moreover there is no any ventilation holes in the rooms. Fan and open windows - not always enough. For better ventilation you need to keep open window and room door at the same time. Typical corridor view at afternoon - many guests put their slipers or trash can in a doorway as a door stoppers for stronger air draft. It is not a prety sight!"

BRIT HOTEL PRIVILEGE LISIEUX – La Villa des Arts

10/10 Excellent

"Great place to stay. Fairly central location, and having a restaurant downstairs was helpful if you're getting into town late. The room was a decent size, an elevator big enough for 2 with luggage (which is not always guaranteed in older cities) and a helpful staff. Biggest gripe was not having a second trash can in the room besides the tiny one in the bathroom... which is about as minor a complaint as you can have, really. Definitely pleased with our stay."
