"Love staying here for the energy and the location. The building is historic, well maintained, and has a resort feature even in the middle of downtown McAllen. I love getting a room with a poolside balcony so that I can wake up to the fountain in the courtyard and listen to the palm trees in the wind.
Breakfast is, generally speaking, a regular situation but I recommend going across the street to Nerve or down the street to Staccato for coffee. At night there's Roosevelts or Nopalito's all within walking distance to go enjoy.
The staff is always amiable and helpful, and the rooms are comfy and familiar. I come back to this hotel time and time again."
