Communication with property was excellent and an easy check -in . There was a fully equipped kitchen - stove top, toaster oven , microwave, coffee machine, toaster and blender , very clean and everything was in good condition . A/C was very good . The added bonus was having beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler . The beach nearby was walkable and very quiet . we enjoyed our stay .

We enjoyed our stay. Anyone staying here for few days, please check your emails for directions. Remember that you have to go get the key from 34 old airport road BEFORE going to Checkers. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay. Room was clean.

Disappointing stay

Very dissapointed, property is not well cared for. A smoke alarm beeped all three days I was there despite asking management to fix, 2 of 3 bulbs in bathroom were out making it very dark. Product in the shower had no soap, disappointing you pay an amount for property management and things all around are well below any reasonable standard. The only plus I have is the bed was comfortable, AC worked well and room was reasonably acceptable.

Clean place and friendly staff. A little bit of a walk to get anywhere except the beach is only a short walk across the street through a path.

They were very accommodating- our fridge broke and they brought a mini fridge the same day. Was a short drive to Grace bay beach area. Plenty of parking on site. Didn’t use the pool or grill.

Everything was clean and Quiet, the pool was nice. The only thing I didn’t like was the communication with the main offices, called more then 5 times, no one ever picked up the phone.

Excellent location! However the hot water didn't work the 1st night. Was forced to take a cold shower after a long day of travel 😫 and the water never got past just "Warm", i.e. No "Hot" shower. The host did their best to fix the issue and im thankful for that! Again.. GREAT LOCATION!

I had to go at another property 15 minutes Drive to get the keys the person checking that give me the key poor customer service the water pressure in the shower was horrible the place is a nice place The Maids on property was very helpful

Nice hidden gem

We are glad we rented a car, because is a good 30min walk to restaurants and stores, just a 4-5 min drive. So you have to pick-up the keys at a different location, that was ok, my only advice is to make sure you get GOOD DIRECTIONS, when I picked up my keys I was asked if I knew how to get there, I told them sure I'll put the address on my GPS... WRONG!!!! the GPS took us somewhere else, so when I called they said "I asked you if you needed directions because the GPS doesn't work here" well..... thanks for letting me know as soon as I said "ill put the address on my GPS" you should have said something! anyways... that was the only minor inconvenience that was resolved immediately. The studio apartment was very comfortable, had a cooler, beach towels, umbrella and 2 chairs. The pool was always empty which was good. When you walk across the street, to the right there is a big road that takes you to an isolated beach!!! you'll have it all to yourself which is great if you want to relax!!

Similar to many of the previous reviews, i had a horrible experience. I rented this place Dec 7-10 2023- the place was nice as described. I paid the security deposit. 3 days after checking out, my security deposit was still on hold. I called to find out when the funds would be released and was told in 3-7 days. I called multiple times during this period to inquire about the removal of my funds and was told by an agent of Checkers Vacation Home that "that's what they [Checkers Vacation Home] do however i will be refunded. " On the 8th day, my funds still weren't released so i called again to follow up. I was then told by Debbie my refund was held for smoking. I have never smoked in my life and the one visitor i had was never there without me and did not smoke either. I do not recall seeing any smoke detectors on the premises nor cameras or anyway that they would be able to know without a doubt if i did smoke. I was told “it was my word against the housekeeper”. I reached out to expedia. They told me that the owners refused to refund the money and there was nothing they could do. And though there was no proof it was still maintained that I violated the owners' policy - which i did not. I am incredibly upset by the owners' greed and blatant dishonesty. I do not recommend staying here for fear that this can happen again.

It is a gated apartment complex. A couple of family living there. The picture you see is for a 5 bedroom unit. not for use unless you rent that unit. The beach is a long walk, 20 minuetes through an abanded property that is for ATV use and also a local dumping ground for junk. Rooms are clean, gas grill out back was a plus. Beach chairs and cooler were great for beach trips. Construction still going on 6 days a week on the property.
