We walked into a thick cloud of weed that filled the lobby and every hallway. Signs about sex trafficking were everywhere. The staff member typed away without response when I told her I was checking in and gave her my name. After a few minutes I asked if I needed to check in online or what to do. She said she was checking me in. Never smiled.
When we got to our room, there were 2 queen beds. We couldn’t find anyway to call the front desk and went down where we will told they don’t have rollaway beds. I clarified that we reserved a room for 5, She said 3 are children that could sleep together. I told her we noted the kids are aged 17, 14 and 14. In our room we heard a man yelling loudly in another language, so I couldn’t tell what was going on. Cigarette smoke wandered in our room when we had to open the window because there was no A/C! That let in the traffic noise, but we still couldn’t sleep because our room was so hot. There was no shampoo, only 4 pillows and a small Tv but the remote didn’t work. There weren’t enough towels or washcloths and when I called through Motel 6 nationwide they transferred me to the front desk. She said they couldn’t bring me anything and that I need to come down to get what we want. No hot drink options besides coffee and powdered cream.
The hotel is run down which makes it look more dirty, but we didn’t expect much as we needed to save money. We appreciated the microwave and larger fridge, but the microwave was so sticky we had to pry it open.
