Our stay at the Surucua Lodge was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Argentina. From the moment we arrived everyone made sure our experience was exactly what we wanted. Extraordinarily friendly people, amazing food, charming lodging. We felt totally pampered while we relaxed and absorbed the magic of the jungle!
Our 2 night stay went well above our expectations. Adrian and Laura were like family and made sure we were happy with everything. One of the truly unique experiences was seeing how excited and involved they were with the environment around them, from the yerba mate farms, to the plethora of animals, especially all the different species of birds. Their guide Lorena was an expertise and her passion and abilities were contagious. The kayaking of rio Iguazu was also a highlight, as we saw absolutely no one else on a beautiful day as the we rode the rio in a lazy river style. All of this was included in the cost of the trip which seemed expensive initially, but with all meals included as well as multiple guided excursions each day (and a great chance to get one on one Spanish practice) it was well worth it and similar to what we would pay for similar lodges. The only tricky thing was that we had to pay in cash, and withdrawing money in Argentina is not as easy as we expected. They are hoping to make that easier in the future.
This property is perfect for nature lovers and bird watchers!
The staff and owners are very passionate about this special place and make sure all your needs are addressed and taken care of.
It is truly one of a kind destination!
Be prepared in advance that they only take cash and you must pay for the stay upon departure.
