El peor lugar donde me he hospedado!

La limpieza pesima, el piso sucio , las sillas en mal estado y la canoa de la habitacione en mal estado. Pero lo peor fue la actitud negativa del due#o, el cual le grito a mi hijo de 10 a#os que tiene un retardo de TDHD, por lo que me parecio bastante mal de parte de una persona que esta alquilando a Ticos. Si no le gustan los perros y los ni#os que mejor lo deje claro en su pagina. Nunca volveremos a este lugar y no lo recomiendo a nadie.

Estadía en familia.

El lugar en general es muy lindo, súper limpio y cómodo, el único detalle fue que salía muy poca agua en la dicha y no tenían agua caliente.

A unique experience in Costa Rica

Travelling around CR for nearly a month we wanted to book somewhere near the party town of Puerto Viejo to bring in the New Year. So, we paid way over the odds to get this place for 5 nights. Our initial impressions were terrible - smelly and uncared for. However, the owner was quick to swap out our broken fridge and fix the hot water, and so we decided to stay and make the most of it. But not a friendly, welcoming chap!! Each of the two bedrooms had two double beds taking up nearly all the floor space, so we laid our cases on one bed each (nowhere to hang up our clothes, not even any drawers). There was a 4" space between the bed frames, so shins got bruised if we got up in the dark. The mattresses and pillows smelled the way you might find in a backpackers hostel so we slept on our own large beach towels. The good things about the place were: 1) on the edge of the rainforest, which to be fair, could account for the damp, dank smell, and the howler monkeys, 2) the hot water for showering, although we never could get the kitchen sink tap/faucet to work - see previous reviewers. 3) Great WIFI. The worst thing was the total lack of communication from the owner during/after our stay. We paid in cash, but he refused to confirm this to Hotels.com despite several phone calls and emails. And we were awakened by loud shouting/fighting (from the owner?) 3 out of the 5 mornings. Frightening! The fact he wanted cash or charge 8% for card was another 1st !! Pura Vida NOT!

Far enough from the main street and waking up to the songs of birds. Large space. Need to invest in the property and be responsive to customers. Walls were grungy and mgmt never responded to request to fix sink's faucet, as no water came out.

The only thing I was not pleased with was the 8% fee for using a card. I looked online and did not see this fee, and I did not have cash- so I had to pay, and it was too late to look for other accommodations. Please be aware when booking. I was only here one night, but it has an apartment setup for cooking, etc. Long-term stay. No complaints about the setup. There is netting and screens on the windows. I didn't lock the windows, and a cat was sitting at the table when I returned...and didn't want to leave, lol.

DO NOT STAY HERE! AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!

By far the worst experience at a hotel in my life!!! The owner was incredibly rude and insulting to me from the second I met him. Orbitz listed the hotel as pet friendly and there were no additional charges disclosed (and Costa Rica in general is very pet friendly and most places do not charge additional pet fees). I brought my two small (hypoallergenic) dogs with me, and after I checked in he came over and said he was going to charge me a cleaning fee that was MORE than the cost of the room. I asked if I could get my money back and go to a different hotel and he refused. Because I would not pay the ridiculously expensive extra cleaning fee, he told me he would trash my belongings as soon as I walked out of the room. I truly felt that my personal safety and the safety of my dogs were in danger if I stayed, and so I had to leave.

Bonito y Cómodo

Buen hotel, muy cómodo y acogedor. Cuenta con 2 cuartos solo con abanicos, además tiene una sala pequeña, Tv, sofá-cama, mesa de comedor y cocina. Un baño privado bastante espacioso. El detalle es que está un poco más alejado de la playa. Pero realmente vale la pena.

Beaucoup d'espace à l'intérieur, parfait pour nos besoins. Très près du centre de Puerto Viejo et de la plage, se rendent facilement à pied.

Quiet night's stay in Puerto Viejo

It was lovely to have an apartment for the price of a room anywhere else. Spacious and airy, set back from the road and backing on to the jungle, making it quiet at night (though the howler monkeys might wake you up some mornings!) It was great to have a kitchen to have the option to cook meals too. Fantastic location, a short walk from the beach and town. Good service from the owners too - they can sort transfers, laundry and anything you need (though we didn't need to use this service) The only downside is the apartment is a bit grubby and tired-looking. The bathroom for example has rust stains and looks like it could do with a good scrub down with some bleach! The towels were also a bit thread-bare and had bleach marks on them. That said the room was cleaned every other day and it is good value considering the price we paid.

Hotel excelente para grupos o familias

Lo más rescatable de la estancia en el hotel fue la comodidad de la habitación para los 5 integrantes de mi familia, aún así siento que nos hizo falta tener aire acondicionado. Otro punto a resaltar es el equipamiento de la habitación, con electrodomesticos, sabanas, toallas, agua caliente y fría. Por su parte, la amabilidad del personal es muy buena, muy atentos y comprensibles.

Great stay

I enjoyed every moment of the trip, it was a unplanned one, but still I enjoyed the fact that my room had a small kitchen, which is convenient when planning on cooking a meal and saving a couple bucks. There's also a refrigerator and dinning area within the small house. If you are looking to save some money on food and amenities this is one option to consider.

Havde god kontakt med receptionen, som var meget hjælpsomme og venlige. Der var meget value for money, hvis man bare ledte efter er sted at overnatte. Desværre lugtede vores værelse så stærkt af kattepis at det var nærmest umuligt at være der, hvilket vi næsten skulle diskutere med receptionen, da de synes det lød meget underligt. Problemet blev fixet mens vi var ude med et sprøjt parfume.. Hvilket betyder at det ikke blev bedre. Rigtig ærgeligt

Good location, peaceful and quiet neighborhood, owner manages the property, price was very reasonable. If I go back to Puerto Viejo, I will stay here again!

You get what you pay for...

I booked this hotel for a one night stay and paid about 42 dollars for the 2 bedroom apartment. While the pricetag was cheap, the location was phenomenal but accommodations were very meager. We checked in around 7pm, the place is gated and down a very long alley way. I wouldnt walk this stretch alone at night. The young lady who checked us in was not very friendly, gave us our keys, and then just turned around and left to her own room. Yes, there is a full kitchen and private bathroom, but the sewer system reminded me of deep Mexico. You know, that strong bathroom smell that permeates an entire house or block. There is no AC and only a couple standing fans. PV is a very very hot and humid area so depending on your comfort level, you might be able to sleep through the night or not. None of this really bothered me except for the sewer smell and how dirty the place was. Cob webs in all the rooms, dirt/dust, dead bugs and mosquitos buzzing around, the place was BADLY in need of a deep cleaning. I have roughed it in 3rd world countries so this wasn't too bad but if you have extra money, pay for a place with AC and better accommodations. I would only recommend this hotel if you are on an extremely tight budget.

Clean but hot rooms and many ants

The hosts are very friendly and help a lot. The rooms are spacious. The price is very good for what you get. It's clean. But the fans are useless, so it's very hot during the night. There was also a loud generator next to our room. The insect nets in front of the window are of the cheapest kind, so there are maaany ants in the rooms. But the kitchen is well equipped and we used it a lot. In general, don't expext anything fancy or new. But the price is excellent and the hosts are really nice and help with anything.
