"The staff at the hotel were above and beyond. The food and service in the Alice Bar were absolutely excellent. The hotel room could definitely use a renovation/makeover. Electricity on one side of the room was intermittent. Bathroom mirror was damaged."

"Spark was a great hotel, very comfortable, and straight forward, great clean room and great beds. Very stream line. It only had a shower and as we were walking a lot during the day, it would have been nice to have a hot soak in a tub at the end of the day. The staff were very helpful, and when asked they delivered most of the time, only on our last morning they missed the wake up call we had requested for a early morning flight, luckily we were awake, but if not, we might have slept in, and missed our flight. The free breakfast was good, clean, straightforward but everything you needed. I really appreciated the coffee/tea station that was available 24/7, it was great to be able to get a free cup of tea at the end of the day. We appreciated the snack/ beer /wine that you could buy at the front desk. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. We would definitely stay at a Spark Hotel on our next trip!"

"This was the old Sonder in Montreal, meaning these are apartments, not a hotel. Everything was great aside from a stained sofa, and the fact that the units totally lack charm or design, even worse after dark as the lighting in the unit is very cold. Excellent location, great gym and pool/deck area. Uninterested, even if helpful when asked, entry staff (due to the fact this is not really a hotel they are only there to keep an uninterested eye on the door; they are not really looking forward to checking you in and be friendly as one would be in a hotel - it is an apartment building and the expectation is you check in yourself with an app/reservation). Great value if you are ok with that and know your way around Montreal."
