"Wonderful hotel with excellent sunset views of the Moai and the ocean. Super friendly staff, great service and well maintained property. Loved my room. Some have mentioned that it is a bit outside the town centre, but I didn’t find it onerous. It’s a scenic 15 minute walk past a beautiful Moai cluster at Ahu Tahai. My new go-to place on Rapa Nui!"

"I couldn't be happier with Cabanas Avanai. The price was reasonable and the location is amazing - I had clear ocean views and could see Ahu Tahai from the front porch. It was an easy 5 minute walk into town on wide sidewalks. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and kitchenette. Pick up was waiting for me at the airport on arrival and they were accommodating to allow a late checkout due to rain on my last day. I highly recommend!"

"This was a perfect experience for what we wanted. Carla is amazing. Pick up was easy. She arranged a rental for us to use. The lodge was secluded (which we loved and wanted). It was clean and view of the ocean from our window and balcony along with the stars at night beyond perfect. We will stay here every time we visit. "

"Stayed there 6 nights, we liked our cabin very much. It is a little further away from the hustle of the town but we didn't mind the 5-7minute extra walk every day along the coast . The property has a large garden, and the room was spacious with a full size kitchen. Amenities were basic and buildings showed age (cracked shower tile etc), there was only a fan, no AC but the island weather didn't require AC and we wouldn't trade moonlit nights and sound of roosters waking us up. "It is the tropics, so very warm! We had a hard time sleeping because the fans were insufficient in cooling down the bungalow. It would have been nice to have a window AC unit and blackout curtains to block the afternoon sun. However, the views are amazing and the breakfast was good. The location is convenient and they provide transportation from the airport to the bungalows. "Tatiana goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is great! There is no internet currently and only a communal television and kitchen. Although a no frills accommodation, Cabañas Makupuna makes up for it in quiet, peace, and tranquility. I most definitely would stay here again!!!!! "
