"Everyone is extremely helpful. The property is well maintained. My only exceptions were that on several occasions when I order room service I am advised to call within a short time period for recollection of the food tray; the room temperature never fell below 24F despite adjusting the thermostat to 10F and despite assistance from maintenance; and breakfast was always crowdy so it would be best to know the breakfast times when there is less foot traffic."

"If it weren’t for the condition of the rooms, I would rate this hotel around 4 to 4.2. The lobby and overall ambience were nice, and the neighborhood was great with plenty of good restaurants nearby. However, the rooms were a major downside—I would rate them no higher than a 3. They felt worn out and poorly maintained. • The carpets were discolored and dirty, especially around the walls. • There was mold where the shower glass meets the metal channel. "Lovely room with great Malin- Gosh toiletries, big shower, comfy robe and pillows and mattress . I had a long layover and they let me stay late for checkout as well as stay on the premises all day using the pool , etc. there’s were three restaurants all great, and one serving a great breakfast buffet for &20.00. I highly recommend staying here. They provided a shuttle to the International terminal every 1/2 hour around the clock. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at Sofitel Downtown. The staff particularly are really friendly and helpful. The location by the Nile was perfect for walks down the Corniche. The food was good at all their restaurants, the concierge set us up with our guide for three days at prices that were comparable to others per my research. I wish I had booked some time at the Spa, but the pool was lovely too. I’d highly recommend this hotel. "

"I really enjoyed my stay, especially the incredible view of the pyramids — it was truly special. The staff were kind, welcoming, and always helpful. The location is convenient for visiting the pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), and is relatively close to Sphinx International Airport, which makes it a good value option for short stays and sightseeing. That said, it’s important to know what to expect: the neighborhood is quite loud, with barking dogs at night, and there is a noticeable amount of dirt and trash in the surrounding area. Giza has a very different feel compared to central Cairo. For getting around, I mostly used Uber, which worked well overall. However, it’s worth planning rides in advance, as occasionally drivers may ask for additional cash payments outside the app. In such cases, it’s best to stick to the agreed price in the app. Overall, a good value stay if you come prepared and know what to expect."

"I expected a 5-star experience at Le Passage, but it was subpar at best. The main attraction, the casino, is randomly open but generally closed, and the "disco" was an abandoned, "couples-only" ghost town. Every gift shop looked dusty and forgotten, with employees just staring at their phones. The "luxury" ends at the lobby. The room was a disaster: the beds are on wheels, so you're constantly rolling around, and the AC is purely for aesthetics. It stayed uncomfortably hot and humid all night. To make it worse, the door lets in a ton of light and the noise levels were unfortunate. I was constantly woken up late at night and early in the morning. They nickel-and-dime you for everything, the drinks are overpriced and not worth buying, and the experience just isn't there. The only saving graces were the great pool, the nice staff and the free airport transfer. The mid-range buffet was fine, and the free laundry for long stays is awesome, but it doesn't make up for the lack of sleep and closed amenities. It’s a 3-star hotel with 5-star prices. Skip it."
