"A great heritage place to stay for a few days of exploring Alleppy, beaches and the backwaters, located across a local road by the massive beach. Hotel is a lovely well maintained old traditional building with a swimming pool and restaurant. Paid a bit more for a large traditional room with a large shared lounge and outside seating area next to the pool. Great restaurant and chef with a good menu choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner also serving alcohol. Guys in the restaurant very helpful...

"We enjoyed Backwater Resort very much. We stayed 1 evening before an overnight houseboat trip. We enjoyed the resort so much we returned for another day just relaxing. The staff are all super accommodating and everyone greets you in passing. 5 star service. The rooms are done very well with real wood furnishing. It is isolated from the city but so quiet and relaxing. Finally, great lake views."

"Ripples Resort made our Kerala vacation. The food, service, and accommodations were all excellent. We stayed for five nights. We had a bungalow near the canal. It was spacious, with a big living room, a bedroom, a small dressing area (I think), and an outdoor shower. It felt peaceful and private. We did yoga on the last three days. "This property was lovely and we especially enjoyed taking the canoes through the waterway for 7 minutes to the beach. The spa was wonderful and the restaurant on the property is excellent. Fabulous breakfast buffet, and they will make eggs for you. Two nights was not enough here!"
