"The staff were lovely, easy to talk to and welcoming. Clean comfortable spacious room. Lovely historic building with guest information book in the room explaining the area and its history. Marvelous breakfast choices. If something needed changing the staff responded perfectly. Didn't have time to use the gym/pool but other guests seemed happy. Look forward to the opportunity to return. "

"Lovely stay and came across the stunning Offa cocktail bar inside. Staff very helpful however a couple of points not so enjoyable- shower over the bath was difficult to work it . No hook on back of the bathroom door it hadn’t been replaced just the marking where the old one had been. Didn’t sleep very well as the quilt was very thin it felt like a summer quilt. No extra blankets in room . Central location for everything is great. "

"Really nice room. Cosy bar and restaurant. The Four out of five for the staff because they sat around us chatting whilst we were having breakfast. It felt a little like we were in the way of their conversation. Dined here on two evenings and one breakfast. Very good meals apart from a massively overpriced “cauliflower steak” - ordered out of curiosity but I should have asked first. It was just a roasted head of cauliflower… and not that big a one, either, but the price didn’t reflect this! Very noisy at closing time and in the street outside. "

"The room was a decent size & the evening meal was really nice but the internet connection was terrible as my phone didn’t connect for the whole 2 nights we stayed there. Also the bathroom didn’t have a holder for the shower head which was very disappointing so really struggled to have a proper shower"

"Hay-on-wye is a special place and the Swan Hotel is a great place to stay, especially if you have a dog. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back."
