1. The room was not ready until 2:50 PM; however, the front‑desk associate was courteous, acknowledged the delay, and suggested nearby places for us to visit in the meantime. 2. The room itself was disappointing, and the furnishings felt quite old. The beds were uncomfortable. 3. Only the fan was working, not the AC; however, we did not request to have the AC turned on because our kids were not feeling well. 4. The per‑night rate of over $400 seems justified only by the location, not by the amenities or the overall quality of the hotel.

It’s been problem after problem here. Someone else’s food in the mini fridge when we checked in. We mentioned it and the manager said “you could have thrown it away” Sink does not work. We were unable to use it during our entire stay. They said they would send someone to fix it and never did. Holes in the wall. Our door doesn’t have a deadbolt, but a weird half hole where it should be. Looks like it was ripped out and replaced with a flimsy sliding lock. They told us they couldn’t give us extra pillows or blankets, so each of us only got one pillow, which will be fine for some people, but rough for this family. But the beds were clean and the room smelled strongly of bleach or some kind of cleaning chemical when we first arrived, so I wouldn’t say it was dirty. Other than the leftover food. The staff at the front desk was kind, the manager was super rude though. Had he just been the least bit apologetic, I probably wouldn’t have left this review.

It was a clean and affordable room right where I needed one. It has canal access to the Atlantic and I could moor my boat right outside of my room. The Tiki bar does live music and I could hear it inside my room at night so be aware. Nice and accommodating people who like to help.

We enjoyed our three night stay. We dived Looe Key reef every day through their dive shop. Safe shallow diving with excellent storage, easy access and excellent staff. Left the afternoon/evening open to relax or go into town. About 50 minutes from Key West. Recommend car rental for your stay

This is a very REASONABLY priced lodging for the FL Keys so expect simple things. We had a great stay, room was clean, the young gent at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful, ditto at checkout. The beds are comfortable. The shower head had great pressure and the onsite tiki bar is a big plus. There were no plastic cups or coffee maker in the room but there was a microwave and fridge and table with two chairs. The ice machine was not working but there is a quickie mart just next door for that if you needed it. Could the resort be flashier, yes it could but Looe Key Reef Resort offered us a cost effective comfy safe stay in a place where time in the room was not important. We did not use the pool or the dive/snorkle amenities as we came down to fish, but if you wanted that stuff it’s all here. We hope to be back soon.

Old and not well kept

The people are nice. But the rooms were horrible. Ants in one bed so we used the other bed only to wake up with bugs crawling under our sheet. The fixtures were rusty and the floor was full of sand. We would never stay here again.

Air conditioning barely kept up with the heat. Everything in the room felt damp. No light bulbs in the night stands. Limited electrical receptacles. Ice machine was inoperable the entire stay. Not hardly resort status. Snorkeling was great and boat staff was excellent. Front desk and employees were helpful.

When booking on line the room states it slept 6. 2 queens and a pullout couch. The pull out couch was broken and unable to be used. The walls had plaster coming off of them, a whole in the ceiling, orange slim on the shower curtain, air conditioners were not working well so the rooms were hot. We turned on the ceiling fan to circulate the air and it wobbled and made a grinding noise so bad we thought it would fall out of the ceiling. And let’s talk about the clean sheets that were stained and the crumbs on the futon and couch which were probably left for the rats we saw outside. On a positive note it didn’t smell like cigarette smoke and the 4 locks on the outside door made us feel extra safe along with the dead bolt and lock on the bedroom door.
