"We stayed in room 60 at Silken Thomas for 3 nights, the room was lovely, the food was excellent, we had private parking, with code entry, behind the property. But the best part of the holiday was the staff, they were all lovely, especially the owner Brian, and even more so, his wife Beata. Beata could not be any nicer, she made us feel so welcome, nothing was any bother. In a restaurant that was really busy every night, she would come over asking how we were. "Very warm and inviting hotel. Check in was very smooth. Outside the hotel has a cute little island with a bridge to walk around. The room were a good size and clean they left cute little rubber ducks on the bed. The bathroom was OK decent water pressure. No place to put your toiletries and not enough hooks to hang towels Unfortunately there was a wedding going on and I finally went to the front desk at 1:30am to complain. "Room didn’t have a window to the outside and the walls need more insulation. I could clearly hear my neighbors. Too much light entering the room from around the door cracks. Breakfast was good. Loved the location."

"A charming and old hotel on beautiful grounds and walkable to Glendalough Cathedral. Hotel needs serious updates and maintenance. Broken coffee machines, fire extinguishers hanging on by a thread to the wall. Staff (other than a bartender) were not impressive and food was meh. Staff is worked hard."

"Das Zimmer war generell sauber, allerdings mangelt es an Kleinigkeiten die aber durchaus nicht unwichtig sind. Nachttischlampen und die Fernbedienung vom Ferseher fehlten komplett. Außerdem war der Schlauch der Duschbrause undicht. Das sollte nicht nur uns als Gästen sondern auch dem Personal beim saubermachen auffallen. "

"Das Hotel und vor allem die Zimmer sind in die Jahre gekommen. Leider war vor allem das Bad in einem sehr schlechten Zustand. Die Toilette selbst war sehr tief und der Sitz defekt. Die Dusche war an vielen Stellen schimmelig bzw. rostig. Jedes normale Hotel hätte solche Mängel selbstverständlich beseitigt, hier anscheinend nicht. Das Frühstück mit Blick auf den Golfplatz war das einzige Highlight. Essen und Service war gut."
