Deskrequired 100$ deposit on credit card for potential damages. I am 71 and tired not at all in the profile to bust up a room. Never stay here again

Hello, we are sorry to hear that you were deceived of your experience at the hotel Empress. However it is standard procedure, we require a security deposit for all of our customers, regardless of age, race, sex or economic status. This deposit doesn't only cover for physical damage, but also for the cleaning fee if a customer smokes inside the room or stain it. The security deposit is not charged, only withheld until the day of departure, where it is given back to you in its entirety. Singing the registration papers means that you have consented to our terms of service, which includes providing a security deposit. Not signing it means that you do not abide with the rules of our establishment, which would mean that the reception desk wouldn't be in the position to provide you your room keys.
