For the very reasonable price we paid we can't complain! A good stopover for 1 night, but I wouldn't choose to stay for more than that. Parking was a big bonus. Bedding and towels were clean, but the room and pub itself could do with a good clean.

The room we stayed in needs a good clean and renovating. It was dirty in many places and you could see daylight around the edge of the door. Outside our room was someone’s drawers with their personal belongings in. They’d been there most of the day. We got woken up really early with staff chatting outside. All round not a very good stay at all. Great location though.

Unfortunately there was no hot water in our room and the kitchen was closed due to a gas problem which we were not informed of in advance. They did manage to do us a reasonable breakfast though. The hotel is a little dated but good for contractors when the hot water is back on.

Very nice small 8 (as far as I could tell) room Inn. Clean room, internet good - streamed Netflix OK. Restaurant nice with a few veggies choices. Very close to town center. And they had a decent cider on tap. Car park at rear is quite small.

It’s an old property with lots of character uneven floors and lots of steps it’s lovely and clean although rooms are a bit dated and some quite small has some outside rooms with private entrances We had a shower over a bath which may be difficult for some one elderly to use so I’d specify if you have any specific needs The food was good basic pub grub and breakfast was excellent Parking is easy and free for residents just make sure you register your number plate when you arrive The hotel is very central in the town so lots of places within walking distance

We were booked to stay for 3 days the staff were polite and friendly but our experience wasn't great to be honest the place looks tired and rundown they shut the bar early the 1st night we arrived due to lack of customers we were told ....we also had no idea it was being used for accommodating people who looked like asylum seekers ...there were possessions stacked outside the stairs to our accomodation and people loading vans for most of the time we stayed including in the middle of the night the accommodation was dated and in need of restoration..the outside staircase up to the room fellt borderline dangerous and looked rotten ..we checked out early . I won't be coming back to the new forest again it put me off ..I don't think we were the only people unhappy with this hotel .
