Grand Decameron Panama, A Trademark All Inclusive Resort
2/10 Terrible
"My experience at the Royal Decameron in Panama was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was poor. The check-in staff did not smile or make us feel welcome; it felt like we were bothering them just by checking in.
The bartenders by the pool bar were rude and had a bad attitude. At the restaurants, the staff was not friendly when we asked for a table, water, drinks, or basic assistance. Even when we were willing to tip, it did not seem to matter. Many employees looked annoyed, and guests should not be treated like a burden.
What made this more embarrassing is that I am originally from Panama but live in New York. I brought two friends from the U.S. to visit, and this resort gave them a terrible impression. We wanted to go to Riu, but since we did not book in time, we chose Decameron as a second option because it seemed to have entertainment and activities.
The resort advertises several restaurants, but not all were open during our stay. It is normal for guests to ask which restaurants are open, especially because the resort is large, spread out, and has many stairs. We had someone in our group with difficulty walking, so we needed clear information. Instead, one staff member got upset and gave us attitude.
The food tasted good, but there were very few options, and many items ran out quickly. The only pleasant staff were from entertainment.
Overall, the service was rude, food availability was poor, and staff was not helpful.NCB"
