"No bath towels in bathroom - said they didn’t have a reservation for me - said the same 2 months prior. Booked thru Expedia. !!!!!!"

"This was by far the WORST hotel stay. I had two rooms and one smelt so strong of fresh paint my son who has asthma ended up having to go into the doctors the next day. The other room ac unit did not work and when I went to tell the receptionist she had her headphones on watching videos. I had to reach over-the-counter and put my hand in front of the computer screen to get her attention. After she switched my room, it was no better. The AC unit did not work in that one either and there was absolutely no sleeping in as the working cruise to the rooms next to mine we're working bright and early at 8 AM with music blaring. "

"Room 227 needs a new blow dryer, current one sparks when your turn it on. It will light someone’s hair on fire. The floor lamp in the room flickered on and off while on. The alarm clock did not work. It is a simple place, no frills. "

"Overall, this hotel was just okay. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety, and I really liked that the coffee and hot chocolate station was available 24/7. The free cookies were a nice touch, too. Amenities like the gym and pool were decent, and the in-room TV was larger than usual. On the downside, the hotel feels pretty outdated, and the carpet in the rooms really needs to go—it felt worn and not very clean. Noise was also an issue, especially from doors slamming. The location is convenient with plenty of nearby stores and food options, though not very pedestrian-friendly. The area had some unhoused individuals nearby, but the hotel itself felt safe. Staff were friendly enough. Overall, it’s an average stay. Good perks, but it would benefit a lot from updates—especially removing the carpet."

"Breakfast was terrible. We went down 2 hours before it closed 2 days in a row and there was no hot food, no bread, no muffins, lukewarm beverages. Only choices were cereal or apples. "

"Beautiful hotel with great history. The staff at the front desk were so helpful and welcoming even with us checking in late in the evening. The nice gentleman at the front while getting my keys ready, explained the story of the hotel and all of its many transformations which was interesting to hear. We will return again if we end up needing a place to stay in Roanoke!"
