"The setting is lovely and the walkable locality and village amenities. We must have booked the budget room though instead of the advertised "deluxe", first floor courtyard, old stables. Room was fairly grubby, area behind the door hadn't been cleaned forever, shower tiny, bedding and towels clean but quality poor and only 1 skinny little pillow each? Our problem though was we arrived at tail end of heatwave and asked for a fan or something but apparently any available had already been given...

"We only stayed here for one evening on our way back from our Irish coast tour. We were surprised that the rooms were in such bad shape, because the reviews were so good. The bathroom was not in good shape, the carpet was falling apart, the water would not get hot, and the water in the shower was backfilling. I was initially furious, so I sent an email to front office. Dean, who was working that evening was incredibly responsive and emphatically apologized for the inconveniences. He provided a...

"A lovely break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We both have coeliac disease. Knowledge of gluten free and cross contamination was very reassuring. Breakfast and evening meals were delicious and I felt very safe eating here."

"Our room was very clean and the reservation staff were very accommodating. Room was very spacious. We left before breakfast but had breakfast included in our rate- they offered to make us a breakfast bag which consisted of a sandwich, snacks and.drinks. They took our order and asked for a time. Come morning it was not ready at the time we had asked so it made us late as we waited an extra 15 mins. It was not the sandwich we had ordered and no snacks. The sandwich was quite good."
