Rockhampton weekend

Had a quiet weekend in Rockhampton. Hotel was ok but room located opposite lift and you could hear it rumbling up and down. Hotel only has one lift. Coffee was not renewed when room was serviced. Good location

Best location under $200 however no secure undercover car parks was available over the weekend and the swimming pool was dirty and unusable. Room was good & breakfast was good. Fine for a transit stayover near restaurants.

From the moment I stepped into reception on 19th March 2024, the girls behind the desk greeted me with such warm, friendly smiles, they were always happy to help and I knew I was going to enjoy my stay.

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. The temperature control for the air conditioning system would make an buzzing sound during the night that kept waking me up like an alarm clock at random times. It would stop when I turned the dial and adjusted the temperature but the buzzing would start again.

Loved the big room and bed

Room was nice and big. Very comfortable. Had to engage the airconditioner as the room was very hot when i got in. A bit tricky understanding the ducted air cond operation.

Parking was very limited and not in a great area. The room needed maintenance, limited hot water no a/c. The front desk was rude at checkout. However, the lady that checked us in was very nice and the bed was comfortable.

I enjoyed staying at the Mercure, I have stayed there before, it’s close to everything and easy to get to, they need to get more covered parking for people staying there, I didn’t like parking out the back of the Mecure it didn’t feel safe, the staff at the desk were very helpful on arrival, the room was clean but the air conditioning may need a overhaul was very stuffy in the room, the only thing I was disappointed in on checkout they tried to charge my room with a breakfast fee of $28.00, I did not have a breakfast in the restaurant and it was charged to my room on the 23rd which I didn’t check in till after 4.00pm so how could I have had breakfast, the girl at the desk was lovely trying to work out what was going on, I said to check your cameras I was never in there, but management made me feel like I was not telling the truth, so it has put a bit of doubt wether too stay there again.

Okay for a short stay

Booked in last minute to break up a long drive. Parking was on site but not designated, lucky to get one as someone left. Room was decent size however the bathroom was very tight. If you had mobility issues you would not be able to step up and over the bath edge to have a shower. The shower body wash was empty with no other soap provided. I let reception know as we left to go to dinner and they said that it would be done while we were out. Upon return reception was not attended and there was still no soap. We used shampoo for washing instead. No drinking water provided in the rooms and no glasses in mini fridge to keep tap water cold. Nice easy walk to plenty of dinner options.
