"The stay was fine, but I never got a response from the host prior to arrival and then when I arrive they didn't have me registered. I almost had to go to another hotel, but I got a friend to call the hosts phone number and they finally resolved the miscommunication. Very stressful"

"This is an excellent authentic Quito apartment. Offering plenty of space including kitchen it is well located for a stay in Quito. The rooms are clean and its charm really is its traditional feel. "It was comfortable and spacious, a great deal for 2bd/2ba, with washer/dryer and everything we needed. The staff were wonderful and it included access to the Marriott gym, pool, etc.
The only thing we didn't care for was the location -- there's not much around there. The other hotel district (near the Sheraton) is much livelier and a better walking/shopping area. The only good restaurants close by were in the hotel. There are some roads nearby we were told to avoid by Marriott staff. However...

"The property was nice. Very clean and modern. The area was great.
However, communication with the host/property manager wasn’t great. I reached out several times before the arrival date to no response. No replies on day of arrival until 30 after check in when I finally got a reply and instructions.
The shower with the covering on only one panel means a very wet bathroom floor, even with a floor towel."

"When we arrived, the pillows in the room were dirty, and there was no hair dryer for my wife. I called the manager, and they changed them. They don't change towels or make the bed—nothing like that during your stay. If you have a movie app, you're fine; otherwise, there are no local channels to watch."
