The Mermaid Inn

The Mermaid Inn

10/10 Excellent
"The Mermaid Inn is a very old listed building with bags of history. As such, you don't expect there to be a lift, and the floorboards creak, but I got to sleep in a 4-poster bed which is not something you would experience in a modern hotel! The staff were always friendly and helpful, the bars were well stocked and the food good. It was a different and enjoyable experience, which I would recommend to anyone planning to come to the beautiful town of Rye."

"We stayed here for one night. The hotel was lovely and perfectly appointed. It was close to the bars and restaurants,a couple of minutes walk and you’re in the centre of Rye so if you come by train it’s easy to walk to the hotel and to everything around it. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. We had breakfast which was really good. The staff were really friendly. We couldn’t fault anything about it for the time we were there."

"Truly exceptional accommodation in glorious coastal East Sussex. Great hospitality and hearty breakfast daily, with unique pub setting for lunch and evening meals. Looking forward to my next stay, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks to all at The Kings Head Inn, Rye, East Sussex."

The Ship Inn

The Ship Inn

"Lovely welcome upon arriving, nice bedroom with all the amenities, did not have dinner but had a lovely breakfast with friendly service, the only thing that I was disappointed in was the toilets in the bar area where the cubicle didn't have a lock and it wasn't exactly clean in there, all in all would recommend a stay as good location for everything including train station and nice and quiet at night."

The Playden Oasts Inn

"Roundal room was very clean and spacious. Booking in easy, staff welcoming. Evening meals, starters, main (steak and chicken & ham pie) all delicious 😋 both large meals. Staff in bar and restaurant very friendly and knowledgeable about menu. Great night's sleep, then to breakfast, good variety to choose from, we went for full english and mushroom omelette (best omelette I've had for a longtime), really enjoyed."

"Clean room. Very helpful staff. In the middle of all activities. Could not find hairdryer in the room. I thought that parking was available but it’s parking on the road and only two hours during the day but plentiful car parks nearby. Super ice cream shop attached to property."
